My name is Laura and I am a medical student at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. I began making cakes the morning of my 17th birthday and since then, I've learned a number of different techniques, as well as how to make macarons and other baked good. My brother, Rick, joined on a few years later with his great cooking abilities and we added the catering into the mix.

Icing Smiles is an amazing organization that connects bakers to families with children facing critical illnesses to provide cakes and cookies for all the celebrations in life

With appointments, bills, and everything else, things like birthdays can take a back seat, but icing smiles is there to lend a hand and help these families celebrate without the added stress.

I am so grateful to get to and if you are a baker, I highly recommend looking into this incredible organization!

These chocolate and vanilla cupcakes are topped with vanilla buttercream and edible princess toppers!
