Market friends, it's been a while! šŸ‘‹

It's been almost 6 weeks since we've made it to the Northport AL Farmers Market. Y'all sold us out of pasture-raised chickens in just a few weeks, but we've been busy raising more and we're finally ready to be back!

We'll be there this Saturday 6-12pm with our pasture-raised whole chickens and eggs

Grab a chicken Saturday morning and it'll be thawed just in time for Sunday supper šŸ—

We’re keeping an eye on the weather and will post an update if anything changes šŸŒ§ļø

See y’all Saturday!

Anything’s a Scratching Post: Crocs Edition

White Crocs: 4/10
Not very sturdy. Keep moving while you’re trying to scratch. Would use again in an emergency.

There was a time we weren’t sure we’d ever get to see these two like this.

I stumbled across her and her mama laying side by side in the pasture last night, and it immediately took me back to the day she was born.

She was our first F1 baldy calf out of our new bull, so needless to say, we were pretty excited. She was born right in the middle of our January cold snap, on the coldest day of the year.

Everything seemed to be going well until a few hours later when her mama had a uterine prolapse. Our vet ultimately chalked it up to a freak accident after an otherwise normal delivery. We went from celebrating a healthy new calf to a life-threatening emergency.

If the exposed uterus was injured, she could have hemorrhaged and we could have lost her very quickly. We had no idea if she was going to make it, much less recover and raise her calf.

Thankfully, we were able to get our vet out, this mama cow cooperated like the good Hereford she is, and we got her put back together and taken care of.

Ranching has plenty of beautiful moments, but they don't come without some really hard ones too.

It’s hard to put into words what moments like this mean when there was a time you weren’t sure you’d ever get to see them.

This fall weather has the cows feeling a bit foolish 🤪

No chickens were harmed in the filming of this video.

Our website got a facelift 🤩

As we have grown, our old website just didn’t feel like an accurate representation of who we are or what we’re building, so we gave it a refresh.

Our new site better reflects our ranch today, from our regenerative practices to the grass-fed beef and pasture-raised chicken, and eggs.

Take a look around and let us know what you think!
