Jump Scare took his turn around the ring yesterday and scored Reserve Champion Lightweight Market Steer at the 2 Karat Showdown!
Kinley also was 5th in Sr Showmanship, where she was admired for her ring presence, confidence, and obvious knowledge of Showmanship - just not in the beef ring.
Jump Scare is currently at 1247 # with about 40 days left to gain until market day. His average daily gain since his first official weigh in has been 2.65 lbs.

Kinley Young made Claquato history today. Last Fall she purchased a new project to gain knowledge and experience with another species, as well as to have a market animal. Her club calf hails from a small 4-H herd in Montana, and we couldn't be more thrilled with the completion of his first show of the year.
His first official weigh in 3/21/26 was 955. Today, 5/24/26, 1125.
Jump Scare was 1st in his class for lightweight market steer, Champion in his Lightweight Division, and 5th in show overall. Not bad for a crew of dairy farmers!
Thanks to Lauryn for being the official fitting crew, and to Jump Scare's breeders Heather Shirran Dye for giving Kinley the opportunity to broaden her knowledge!
