Breeding/AI Season – Day 14...

The cows are AI bred ✅
The heifers are on schedule ✅
The bulls are... EXTREMELY OFFENDED 😤

Stillwater Lachesis 141L and Snyder NADSAQ 21N have been closely monitoring the ‘Happenings’ from the other side of the fence and would like to issue an official complaint...

"Excuse us..."

We've noticed the ladies are getting special treatment.

There's been an awful lot of breeding talk...

And yet...

Nobody has consulted us.

Every trip past the bull pen comes with pacing, opinionated bellowing, dramatic stares, and enough fence-line supervision to make sure we know they're deeply offended by this entire AI program.

Meanwhile, we're just over here trying to keep Breeding Season on schedule 📆

Sorry, boys... your turn is coming.

Until then, the semen tank is doing all the heavy lifting 😂

✨ Breeding Season is Here... and So is the Chaos! ✨

It’s that time of year again… when the calendars are color-coded, there are too many options in the semen tank, scribbled notes on who to cross with WHO are everywhere, making sure the Bulls stay in their ‘Raptor Fence’, and everything runs on CIDR schedules...

This Month, our lives revolve around breeding charts, synchronization schedules, cattle handling, and trying to keep all those mating decisions straight.

This year we've split the herd into two breeding groups: Brood Cows & Replacement Heifers

And because apparently we enjoy a challenge, they're in two different locations.
• Two groups.
• Two locations.
• One schedule.
Honestly, who thought this was a good idea? 😅 (Me. It was me. 🤦🏽‍♀️)

Both groups are being synchronized using a 7-Day CO-Synch + CIDR protocol ahead of AI & then we turn the Bulls out later to ‘Clean Up’ for 45 days. While it may look like organized chaos from the outside, every CIDR inserted, every shot administered, and every breeding decision is part of a larger plan to continue building a productive, functional, and genetically strong Murray Greys.

We're officially halfway through our four weeks of controlled chaos ~ the brood cow CIDRs have been pulled so Countdown to AI at Standing Heat has commenced, and the heifer group has now started their CIDR sync protocol.

Here's to the second half of breeding season, good cattle, and hopefully deciphering all those scribbled notes before AI day. 🩶

2026 Calf Photo Dump

Fair warning... 😍

Every year we tell ourselves we won't take a million calf pictures, and every year these little Murray Grey babies prove us wrong.

From the curious faces and the calf cuddles to being constant "distractions" while we're trying to do chores, this year's calf crop has been a lot of fun to watch grow. They've got personality for days and keep us laughing with their antics.

We're really excited about this group and the quality we're seeing, but for now we're just enjoying them being babies.

So here's your official 2026 calf photo dump … because keeping all this cuteness to ourselves just didn't seem fair. 📸✨

Which one is your favorite? 👇

“IM JUST A GIRL! 💁🏼‍♀️”

05/14/2026

Not me getting teary eyed at my baby having her first baby 🥹🤍

Snyder Mardi Gras officially welcomed her very first calf into the world, P33 - a beautiful Stillwater Last Call daughter, and we couldn’t be more excited about this one already.

Less than 30 minutes old and already stealing hearts around here.

So far, the 2026 calf crop is definitely shaping up to be the YEAR OF THE LADIES:
✨ 5 Heifers
✨ 1 Bull

2026 sires include:
• Stillwater Lachesis
• Victory Mr Muscles
• Stillwater Last Call

With Stillwater Lachesis owning the girl dad thing- siring 4 of our 5 heifers so far. 🤍

And honestly… the girls are making a statement. 💁🏼‍♀️

… we can 100% relate to this 😆😅

Finally had a chance to sit down, take a deep breath…and just WOW 🤯🥹🤩

Still not sure we’ve fully processed everything but we are sure of one thing - we’re incredibly proud of this year’s group of cattle and the way they showed.

Here’s how OBE 2026 shook out:🔥

Stillwater Lachesis 141L
• Grand Champion Bull
• Grand Champion Senior Bull Division
(Bred by Stillwater Ranch Montana Murray Grey Cattle)

Snyder Mardi Gras
• Reserve Champion Female
• Grand Champion Senior Heifer Division

Snyder Nespresso 18N
• Grand Champion Junior Heifer Division

Snyder NASDAQ 21N
• Reserve Champion Junior Bull Division

Snyder NEFFEX 26N
• Grand Champion Bull Calf Division

LRF Lavender
• Reserve Champion Cow/Calf Pair
(Bred by Limestone Ridge Farms)

Snyder Nothing But Trouble 17N
• 1st in class

Snyder Nitrous Oxide 20N
• 3rd in class

Couldn’t have done it without our friends and family who helped every step of the way - it truly takes a team, and we’re beyond thankful for ours.

We’re also incredibly blessed to be part of such a strong group of eastern breeders who continue to show up, compete, and push the Murray Grey breed forward.
