You guys will never know what your words of encouragement mean to us šŸ’š

In the next few months the two of us behind The Front Porch Farm will be juggling a full-time job, a part-time job, a full-time PhD course load, a part-time masters course load, a farm, and a brand new BIG project that weā€™re super excited about but will be a LOT of work. Weā€™re exhausted, weā€™ve had to adapt to new schedules and new limitations, weā€™ve dealt with a lot of set backs recently and questioned how we wanted to move forward amid rising costs, slower sales, and general life changes but weā€™re still here!

Last year I shared that we would be refocusing our efforts more on the farm and less on the handmade items that we used to sell. That was a decision made out of necessity, but it was one of the best decisions weā€™ve made for our farm, business, and lives. I hate that the farmstand is a little bare right now and there is a temptation to fill it up with more, more, more! But Iā€™m practicing patience and trusting that when the Lord, in no uncertain terms, forces you to course correct itā€™s best not to double back to your old ways. Weā€™re protecting the time and energy we need to build a sustainable farm business without neglecting the other aspects of our lives that weā€™ve been called to and we appreciate that you guys have stuck around this long while we explore what The Front Porch Farm can contribute to our lives and to the community that you all have built around our little dream.

The garden isnā€™t doing as well as we had hoped this year, but itā€™s doing better than we thought it would and we take our wins where we can get them around here!
We have some tiny little cucumbers and lots more flowers, a ton of mini pumpkins sprouting, and a good first round of zinnias.
Weā€™ll see how long I can keep the plants alive and the weeds at bay šŸ«£
