The viral Cake Picnic was all over our feeds this summer — gorgeous table spreads, handcrafted sky-high cakes under clear blue skies. We wanted in. But when we couldn't get tickets or align with dates, we made our own. A group of women from Burlingame's food and hospitality scene, joined by friends old and new.

A forested park, blanket on the grass, shade tent , and more cake than any of us could finish. It was a sweet afternoon of celebration. Cake. Sunshine. Pure Joy.

If summer was a pie, I would pick peach every time.

My Swedish grandmother taught me how to bake pies when I was growing up and I will always think of her whenever I'm rolling out my pie dough. Today, as a professional chef, I use all my grandmother's tricks, to perfect this peach pie recipe.
