🐑Lambing season is in full swing!🐑

We are a little bit over a quarter way done with lambing and the barn is really starting to show!

☀️The lambs have been enjoying the warmer days and sunshine!

🎊We look forward to pushing through lambing season with great numbers and happy, healthy lambs!

⭐️2026 Lambing Season is here!⭐️

🐑Take a look at some of our first lambs born this season! We are off to a great start!

We are hoping that this weather finally makes up its mind and stays a bit more consistent. Believe it or not, we actually prefer below freezing temps for lambing. It keeps everyone healthy and clean but nonetheless, lambs are arriving!

🏆NAILE 2025🏆

Blizzard- 1st in Yearling Ram Class

Sampson - 4th in Fall Ram Class

Walter - 5th in Fall Ram Class

Ember - 6th in Yearling Ewe Class

Willow - 3rd in Spring Ewe Class

🏅What a great show! While we didn’t do quite as good as we were hoping, we certainly have been improving year over year. It was exciting to place so high with our sheep out of our own breeding!

🐏 The breed was well represented with over 80 head entered this year! To put that into perspective - our first year down here there were about 50 entires!

📣A HUGE shout out to Katherine for joining us down here to lend a hand with fitting and showing! We appreciate your willingness to jump in and help with any task at hand! You did amazing and we cannot wait for you to join us on our showing adventures in the future!

📸Another thank you to Karen ( Katherine’s mom) For snapping great photos and helping out with prepping and hanging on the sheep while going in and out of the ring!

🎉We are excited about the future of our flock and to continue to see the improvements over the next years to come! Here’s to NAILE 2026!

3️⃣Day 3 is complete! We spent the past day and half fitting sheep and getting them ready for tomorrow! It was quite the process but we are super excited to show off our hard work.

🌡️The temperatures have been changing drastically. We started Saturday at 75 and started this morning we was 36.

💤 Time to rest up and get ready for tomorrow!

🛣️Aaannnndddd we’re off!

🐏We spent the day yesterday getting ready and we are so excited to take on the colored shavings at the Louisville Exhibition Center for NAILE 2025!

NAILE 2025

🚙 We leave for Kentucky in 1 week! We are excited to head down to our 3rd NAILE show!

🐏We are looking forward to the group that we are bringing down this year!

🐏Fall Lambing Season🐏

🍂Our Horned Dorset ladies are just about wrapping up fall lambing for the season!

🍂We had great conception rates this fall. With three ewes left to go, we had a total of 10 ewes lamb.

🍂Another reason we love Horned Dorsets is due to their ability to breed at any time of year!

🍂We breed in the fall with some of our breeding stock that we would like to show next year, this gives us another class opportunity to show when we go to livestock shows next year!

As everyone knows the weather has been brutal lately. The ewes didn’t have a choice and the babies still arrived. We are all tired trying to keep everyone healthy. The good news is we are over half done with lambing.
