All the excitement of Wednesday was topped yesterday. Gray Owl's Vivian, my oldest cow at 18, surprised me with a calf. I wasn't expecting a calf from her, as I watched all year and couldn't catch her in heat. Now I know why. I had the bull with the main herd for 6 days while I was doing embryo work with a couple cows. Guess he shot his shot and it worked 😂 Unfortunately, she has horrible udder suspension and big teats as well. Poor calf isn't getting latched on, so I fear I will have my first bottle baby here. At least it's a heifer!

New year, new life, new direction. I'm very excited about this newest heifer calf, as she's my first embryo calf from start to finish. My dam, my sire selection, my recip, born and raised at my place. Can't wait to see where she goes from here

Causally looking for new pastures, CZH Deoxys (65335)
He's been a fantastic bull prospect for me over the last couple years. I've shown him across the midwest and he's been successful all along. His accolades include-
2023 MAHA reserve division champion
2023 MAHA reserve champion cow/calf
2023 UP State Fair reserve champion bull
2023 NCHCA reserve division champion
2024 UP State Fair reserve division champion
2024 NAILE reserve division champion

Throughout the years, he's been highly praised for how sound he is both in motion and standing on the profile. Deoxys has also been complimented for his length of spine and ability to maintain a strong top line with that extra length. He bred his first heifer he was with on her first cycle, and is currently in with an old cow to breed her. BSE available upon request

He weighed 1280 pounds at NAILE in November. His dam is Sunset Fargo's Xena, a full sister to Sunset Rebel Yell. She has an excellent udder, pictured at 13 y/o. His sire is STR Encore, the 2023 national champion highland bull. He has produced many stellar offspring in his first couple calf crops. Get ahead for the 2025 breeding season with this exceptional young bull. His pedigree is as elite as they come in the breed, and he shows it too

Thrilled with the flush results from this week! I used Scott of Craycombe, one of the most influential bulls in the highland breed, on both Snowland Jenny and Sunset Fargo's Xena. Xena produced 8 embryos and Jenny knocked it out of the park with 17! Can't wait to get some of these babies on ground
