Timing is off however I like to add check-ins.

Brunch today was at the EcoBean in Burlington VT.

Its gluten, dairy and soy menu is perfect for our party as one of us is allergic to all 3.

Positive feelings for this place. Good food decent prices.

The soy free Chik’n is made from pea protein. We did not ask what the gluten free wraps are made with. The were great for our wraps and not dry like a lot of gluten free breads.

Lunch today was decent and disappointing. Here’s how it went down.

The place was busy so we wanted to give them some slack. However, our food took a half hour to 45 minutes to come out. That being said none of our meals were a long cook.

I ordered a four stack sampler of beer. All the beers were decent from dark to peanut butter chocolate as my dessert drink. I ordered the fish and chips, nice size piece of fish. The batter was light and the fish cooked properly. The fires/chips were well cooked and nicely seasoned. My meal was to my liking. The coleslaw is always understated / underrepresented. Nobody serves enough coleslaw for my liking. However I love cabbages anti-carcinogenic capabilities but what can I say? It’s a side dish.

Tanya was disappointed in both her burger and her chips.

Her chips were over salted. They make the chips they’re on site. She fixed her chips to her liking by using ketchup as a dip.

Her burger tasted frozen and had corn in it. She said that miss is on her because she does have a corn sensitivity. She forgot to ask that question. So that miss is on her. But again the burger did taste like it was frozen, not fresh.

Kris said her Ruben was good. Her issue was her chips. but her chips were inconsistent. Some were soggy, some crispy she definately had problems with her chips.

Overall, we cannot give this a 5 star rating. We give this a 2 1/2 star rating.

That really drops because of the food, the service and our wait time for food.

We had to flag down a server a couple of times whether it was a someone walking by to ask questions of. Or raise my hand for our server to come collect my credit card check.

And it goes a little further here if you pay by credit card Madison Brewing Company Pub & Restaurant will charge you an additional credit card convenience fee. See our receipt for proof. Charges are over 2% additional to use a credit credit. That is illegal, but I’m seeing it more and more across the country as I travel.

So the big question would we eat here again? At this time no we cannot recommend eating here.

Suggestions for improvement.
Fees
Stop charging credit card fees. If feels greasy and does not look good. If you need to raise prices to cover the credit card fees. Then adjust them accordingly.

Salads
Offer a build your own salad option.

You offer some salad options that could be customizable but once we take away the items that we are sensitive to there is almost only lettuce and tomato.

Build your own salad is a popular option we are seeing in the Midwest that is too slowly working it way east.

After a long mornings walk around the hot air balloon festival we were hungry. So we stopped to have breakfast at the Auction Barn Restaurant.

We each had the Irish eggs, which are 2 eggs your way over hash, Hollandaise sauce with a side of toast. Tanya had hers with a cup of fruit and gluten free toasted bread

I wanted something heartier so I asked them to make the following.

Start with a waffle then put the Irish eggs on top of the waffle. They made it perfectly so no complaints. It ate like a pie and was very filling.

The staff took a picture of it and may offer it as a special one day.

Either way a great stop nice family friendly atmosphere.

My beloved and I went to dinner last night at Woodstone Tavern in Holyoke mass. The staff were pleasant and very helpful with our food choices and helping us make good ones and substituting as needed for our allergies. We definitely recommend going here. We had a good time the atmosphere is wonderful so you should really try Woodstone Tavern in Holyoke mass.

Dinner was at state street pub in Buckland MA. App was bruschetta minus the dairy. I had the fish and chips. Fish was lightly battered and cooked perfectly. The sides were great the broccoli coleslaw and chups paired nicely. I paired that with a rail ale. Tanya had a veggie soup and salad combo. She enjoyed it however her portions were a bit small. Mom had their chicken Parmesan and really enjoyed that.
