I know, I know—when you look at this first picture, you see a farmer at work or maybe just someone you're familiar with posing in her garden? But let’s be honest: it’s really all about the garlic anyway! 🧄✨
The true star of today’s post: our 'Music' garlic harvest.
These massive cloves are beautifully sharp when raw, but they melt into a rich, creamy, buttery dream once roasted. Harvesting these heavy, perfect bulbs out of the earth makes every bit of autumn planting and winter waiting completely worth it.
Step aside, human—the garlic is taking center stage today. 🧑‍🌾➡️🧄
P.S. Our backend analytics claim that absolutely no one pays attention to us on Sundays, but I’ve always been a bit skeptical of data over human connection. If you’re seeing this in your feed today, leave a quick comment to help me prove the algorithm wrong! Let me know: are you team raw and spicy, or team slow-roasted and sweet? 👇

"I don't have hobbies." 😉
Just a deep, daily commitment to the things that keep me grounded, connected, and completely exhausted in the best possible way. ☀️🐑

There’s something about the rhythm of the farm that a factory just can’t replicate. While the rest of the world speeds up, we’re leaning into the slow, the steady, and the sustainable.

We prefer fence lines over assembly lines.

Farm-grown, not factory-made. It all started with a handful of wool and a happy flock. 🐑✨ Sustainable, local, and hand-felted right here on the farm.

I used to think being productive meant waking up and instantly grinding. Now I know that the most productive thing I can do is sit quietly for 10 minutes and let my intuition speak and that usually involves being in nature too. Every major pivot and great idea I've ever had started with a quiet moment and a random "nudge" I decided not to ignore.
We spend so much time chasing answers, running from meeting to meeting, and scrolling for inspiration. But usually, the next right step isn't hiding in a hustle—it’s waiting for you in the stillness of your morning routine.

We do have fun on the farm! We work hard but enjoy ourselves too. Laughter truly is magic

There is a certain magic that happens when you find the right people to share the load. It’s that rare, rhythmic alignment where the line between "work" and "life" begins to blur, and the weight of the tasks somehow feels lighter because it’s being shared.
When you’re working alongside people who share your vision—who understand the slow, intentional pace of what we do here at Stoney Mountain Farm—the sweat doesn't feel like a tax on your energy; it feels like an investment in something meaningful. It stops being a "to-do" list and starts being a collective effort.
It is in those quiet, shared moments of exertion—the kind captured in a photo of us covered in barn dust and glistening from the glorious Piedmont humidity, laughing after a long day—that you realize it isn't really work at all. It’s a shared pursuit of something beautiful. When you have the right team, the challenges are just part of the landscape, and the joy of creating something together far outweighs the effort it takes to get there.

If you’re prone to forgetting your watering schedule (guilty!), wool pellets are a game changer. They can hold up to 3.5x their weight in water, releasing it slowly back into the roots. Plus, they naturally aerate the soil as they expand! Better for the plants, easier for you. Perfect for the "I forgot I had plants" gardener. 😉 Wool pellets act like tiny sponges in your soil, giving you a little extra grace period between waterings. It’s basically a built-in safety net for your favorite greenery. High hydration, low effort.n needed.
Bonus: The added nutrients they offer as they break down

We always say they grow up too fast, and on the farm, we’re never wrong. There’s "human time," and then there’s "farm time"—which always feels like it’s running at double speed. It’s one thing to watch a child grow over eighteen years, but seeing a lamb go from a tiny, fragile thing to a sturdy, dependable mother or a proud ram in just a year or two? That’s a special kind of whirlwind. 🌿🐑
It’s a quiet joy watching yesterday’s shaky-legged romping lambs grow up, but sometimes that speed catches you by surprise. Yesterday, we hosted some wonderful vendor partners for a long-planned visit. We’d spent over a year scheduling the day specifically to work around "the wee ones"—only to realize the wee ones aren't so wee anymore! Trying to take sweet photos with a 30-pound lamb is a lot less cuddly and a lot more of a workout than we planned.
