Member Spotlight: 7 Creeks Vineyard!!!

Just over ten years ago, the Horne family started having casual conversations over wine about starting a winery. While disparate backgrounds in accounting, IT, and home building don’t directly pave the way to jumping into the wine industry, a deep love of wine and family was the catalyst needed to turn casual conversations into a serious one while sharing wine during a family trip to the Napa/Sonoma region of California.

Jerry Horne, patriarch of the family, started with intensive research that turned into a plan and the family purchase of initially 10 and now 15 acres in Burnet County. With the help of his sons, Briggs and Stewart, 7 Creeks Vineyard broke ground in August of 2017 and in 2018, Tannat, Mourvedre, Souzão, and Alicante Bouschet was in the ground! Briggs studied viticulture, the science, cultivation, and study of growing grapes for winemaking. Janice, Jerry’s wife and Carole, Briggs’ wife defined the family atmosphere and culture they knew would make 7 Creeks Vineyard a place where people would want to visit and come back to. Carole also started planning what food would best accompany the wine to create a truly magical 7 Creeks Vineyard experience.

When you have such an incredible turnout for your Spring wine club pickup party that you have to bust out your old souvenir glasses from the 2024 eclipse as backup 😂😂
