SIMPLYYYY couldn’t wait any longer to post these beautiful moments 💓 I’m lucky enough to call Brittany one of my closest friends, and it’s easy to know she loves each of her animals deeply. However, I didn’t realize the depth of their love for her after taking these photos. I’m not even a quarter of the way through editing her shoot, and I’m saving the best for last, but I couldn’t wait any longer to share some of Brittany and her beautiful, crazy, goofy, four legged loves (and even a tiny velociraptor)! 🐴🐶🐓

We have super exciting announcement!

After years of contemplating, I have decided to start dabbling in the world of Photography!

I could start to explain how ever since I was a kid, I love taking pictures and found so much enjoyment of capturing the perfect image, but in all honesty, I’ve never really had the confidence or the expertise to being doing it passed taking a high school photography class! But after purchasing a camera, doing some test runs, and spending HOURS every weekend playing around with editing, I found myself falling in love with it all over again!

We are looking to finding our niche, but we hope to begin offering a more “agricultural” aspect to our photography offerings. My dream would be able to photograph images for farmers and breeders selling livestock, from horses to cows, to also supporting reputable dog breeders! It no secret that horses are our main focus, so I’m also hoping to offer equine photography that highlights the little details that make a horse and owner/rider bond so strong.

SOOOO… that’s where you come in!! I am looking to add to my portfolio of images other than my own family and animals, lol! Below is a list of locations and themes I would like to find people/animals to model for! The session would be absolutely free, and any photos I plan I add to my portfolio you’d get a digital copy of! Somewhere in the ballpark of 8-10 images. Session would take place on Saturday/Sunday. Hoping to get in a few of these before slow starts to fly(even though it’s currently 60 degrees outside, like what?!!).

Locations:
- Open field (horse and rider, would be a “ranchy” themed shoot)
- Beach (horse and rider, but also a couple based sessions as well!)
- Aisleway in a barn (would be mostly on ground photos)
- Arena (could be English or western, looking to capture in motion photos. Ie jumping, barrels, cow work, etc)

*Note; you’d be responsible for transporting to and from, and I could also supply any tack that would work better for the vision of the session if needed.

Also looking for any breeding/sale barns, whether it be for horses, cows, goats, or a reputable dog breeder looking for sale/breeding photos of their animals to post online/on a website to support my work!

HAPPY EASTER from all of us (well, Zach, myself, and this chick, whoever she is) here at Sweet Birch Farm!! We still have some Olive Eggers available!

This weekend we are requiring photos of brooder set ups prior to purchasing from our farm, as well as what the plan will be for a coop in the coming months to ensure they will not be handed off once the holiday has passed! And if anyone who purchases changes their mind, they can return the chicks here for a full refund of what was paid at any point in time.

Chicks and bunnies are the most commonly rescued/rehomed animal after the holiday, and here at SBF, we will do everything we can to prevent that from happening!

Happy Easter everyone! Eat lots, enjoy your family and friends, and give your pets an extra hug tomorrow just because. 💓

We have some colored egg breeds hatching in just under a week! Whiting True Blues and/or Olive Eggers, depending on the fuzzy feet, or lack there of!

Add some color to your egg baskets and message us today! These will be offered for $3 a piece or 4 for $10! The below photo is a color comparison to a white/cream duck egg! True Blue’s lay a bright blue egg, while olive Eggers are known for various shades of, well, olive shades!

*Our hatching eggs (soon to be babies!) were purchased from Karen at N44° Farmstead, and are not from our own colored egg layer stock! Please send her a message if you’re interested in any hatching eggs! We highly recommend!

Check out this brooder from a customer of ours! She has made this brooder appear to be super easy to clean, as well as functionable for the ducks! There is even a shallow water play area!

It’s been a busy weekend here! Man, as much as I hate winter and I can’t wait for spring, I DREAD the mud! But then Trigger and I watch my ducks play in the rain water, and slosh in the mud, and I realize that if they can find happiness in this messy weather, I can too!

We are keeping our fingers crossed that some of our late hatchers emerge out of their shells tonight, so I can offer them up to the public! Two more are finding their own brooders tomorrow, which means that out of everyone that’s hatched has already found a new home!

We’d like to thank each and every one of our customers for supporting local and purchasing their chicks and ducks through us. This has been a great season so far, and I can’t wait to see what else Sweet Birch can accomplish this year!!

It’s impossible not look at these little guys and not fall in love!!

This little bu**er is one of the three I have left available, and its a ZOOMIE little thing! Since I put in him/her the brooder with his buddies, it’s been ripping up shavings all morning! I’ve never seen a little duck with so much energy right from the start! I’ve never named a duck fresh out of the coop because I get so attached, but I’ve decided to call this cutie, you guessed it, Zoomie!

Come take Zoomie and the last two ducklings home with you to enjoy! $10 a piece, and all three must go together!

Long time no see! We’ve been so busy on the farm this winter with all the crazy weather we’ve been having, but we are happy to say that spring is on the way!

We have some incubators going, that have assorted Call Ducks as well as Cayugas! So far all the eggs I placed are viable and will be hatching in the next couple weeks!

I have a wait list on the Cayugas, but I could take a few more names. These ducklings are $10 a piece, sold in minimums of 2! I usually prefer to sell in quantities of 3 just to ensure the ducklings have a buddy in case one were to pass.

The call ducklings I will be reserving for myself to further grow my lines, but if I see some colors hatch that I’m not in need of, I’d be offering these little ducklings up for $15 a piece, minimum of 2!

Here at Sweet Birch we do like to hold onto our ducklings for a few days after hatch to ensure they are strong little bu**ers, and make sure they are ready for their trips to their forever homes!

Big week for Sweet Birch! Last Saturday we tied the knot 🤵🏻👰🏼‍♀️ and we’ve spent our vacation week prepping to get our horses finally home! Here’s what we’ve accomplished in a few short days:

▫️We got our hay tent up, made more space in our shed to house another 6-8 rounds!
▫️Gravel for the foundation of our new barn is scheduled to come this week!
▫️ We got some of the pasture raked (by hand, mind you!) and we picked up a sweet attachment for our w**d whacker to knock down some annoying plant growth on the outside of the pasture, as well as any left over small twigs sticking up!
▫️ We got about half our pasture T-Posted, the rest will have to wait until we get gravel & the barn up.
▫️Today we picked up everything we need to complete our second two stall barn and another run in!

Now that the wedding craziness is over, we plan on being more active around the farm & making more progress every day!
