Evening stroll video.
We woke up to twin blue eyed strong goat baby girls- a great thing! Our goat herd grows over 25... many new babies- seven different nigerian dwarves for sale. All blue eyed, One champion buckling...
Vegetables:
Our 20x60 foot tunnel for tomatoes has been graded, built, rows are being prepared. Row crops in a 100x30' space sit alongside this tunnel, with a 100 foot tunnel going alongside the branch behind..
This was all to***co fields back in the day, then had cattle grazing it for 50+ years. I rotated cows, pigs, goats and plenty of birds here for the last 3 years. The soil is pumping with organic matter, we are looking forward to the meeting the challenge of veggie growing up in this 60 mph wind mountain valley.
Blackberries are flowering like mad, our first peaches have formed, Pear and apple trees have all been espaliered. Blueberries are jumping- today I ate my first strawberry...many different types of baby mulberries are jumping to life post goat attacks... some experimental apricot/plum trees have successfully grafted... The future is very berrry and more sweet things here at Tonk Farms.
