Everything is ready for tomorrow! It will be a wonderful day so come on out. Just a few suggestions. Bring some OFF. The mosquitoes have thinned out considerably but we still have a few due to the recent rains. Wear comfortable shoes. Prefer closed toe. There will probably be a line of traffic but we park really fast. We have some great vendors this year. Cash for gate is recommended but we do accept a card. It slows the gate down. Thanks to my family for getting this done today. It was a hot miserable day but we got it done!

Due to the extreme heat forecasted for next Saturday we have decided to end the festival at 2:00 instead of 2:30. I also recommend closed toe shoes. No sandals due to an abundance of fox tails. The more we mow the shorter they get. But they still produce a pesky seed. If you wear sandals just be aware. You'll be shaking out your sandals frequently. The picture is after a short trip to water the chickens. We will mow and bag the grass but they are still there.

What a different world we live in... this is one thing that never crossed my mind. I guess counterfeiting has become a popular sport at craft shows this year. Don't try it at my festival, I'm ready for you! My vendors are being informed too.

Mother nature has certainly tested us lately, with the late hard freeze and spring storms creating quite a wild season. This evening we received 1 1/2 inches of rain. I captured some photos before the storm. It is in full bloom, which is why I moved the festival up a week from last year hoping it would be ready. However, I didn't expect it to be a month ahead of schedule! Luckily, I have different varieties that aren't ready yet, which actually makes for a much nicer bundle since it's long-stemmed. One great thing is the abundance of pollinators we have this year.

A warm welcome to our new followers! Spring has been a trial, but the lavender persevered through the winter, only to be tested by a sudden 16° freeze that took out a few plants. I'll replace them, though they won't be blooming by the festival. Everything in the garden now is budding out and should be pretty for the festival. The festival is looking great with about 35% more vendors. Don't forget Mother's Day this weekend. If you need lavender plants for your yard Ark Valley Lavender will be selling plants at Botanica. Mother's get in free.

Edit: We made the decision tonight to have the farm as the pickup spot from 1:00-4:00 on Saturdays. Other times can be available by appointment. They will bring a limited amount. Please private message the farm with a rough estimate of how many plants you are thinking so they bring enough for the week. They will be at Botanica May 12th on Mother's Day. Mothers get in free so you can pick them up there if you are in Wichita. Price will range from $8.00-$10.00. Thank you for supporting Ark Valley Lavender!

If you see some new competition in town it's OK! It's my grandsons! They have been busy repotting and the lavender is almost ready to sell.

THIS POST IS FOR FESTIVAL VENDORS ONLY. We are ready to accept vendors for the 8th annual Lavender Festival and Craft Show! It will be June 15th. All applications are done online. All vendors need to join the private group "2024 Lavender Festival Vendor Application". The application is under files. The sooner you apply the better location of booth you"ll have. It fills up fast!

We want to wish everyone a wonderful holiday season. We are humbled by your support and enjoy each and every one of you. We will be closed the next few months but we will be busy making gifts and products for the coming year. Mark your calendars for our festival June 15th! Thank you for a wonderful year.

Exciting update! They have already rooted! That was fast! They started more a few days ago.

And so it begins! These are next years babies. My grandsons will be busy this winter. 720 plants started. More will be started this week. On top of this, they are building me a new chicken coop.

A beautiful morning to w**d and mow the lavender. I even harvested some. All this off two phenomenal plants and one little plant. The phenomenal is what the grandkids sold at the festival. In 2 years this could be your harvest!

I love my new throw made by Jenna Schroeder of Knits and Knots. As of today a brand new business! I like my shirt Sandy Bishop designed for the festival and I have my new wreath hanging on the front door. I believe Sandra Leithof was selling these. Please correct me if that isn't right. We had a game of musical booths going on. We switched some around at the last minute. I also want to thank KSN channel 3, Good Day Kansas for featuring the farm a couple times. It is much appreciated.

I have a group of ladies coming in the morning. We are going to make some lavender sachets and I'm serving lavender punch and little butter posies with lavender sugar sprinkled on top. It will be a fun trip for them I hope.

Thank you doesn't seem like enough for everyone that helped and supported the lavender festival. My family has been helping for weeks. My grandsons Jack and Gavin helped beyond words this year. Their parents are definitely bringing them up right. The vendors were wonderful. I know outside shows are a gamble and you hung in there. What a beautiful day! I absolutely love my new tumbler from Jenna Wiseman and the wonderful quiche from the Bierock Lady! Thank you to the public for your support. We try hard to make it a good day but you make it a success. Thanks again to everyone.

My last post of the morning. The vendors are setting up without any problem. You should only have a 1/4 mile of good dirt road to drive. No rain on radar. We got one half of an inch. I will no longer answer questions. Everyone have a great day.
