Events & Happenings
Shearing Day is planned for Saturday, March 1st. We will get started between 8:00 and 9:00 Plan to come out to help, watch, and get your fresh off the sheep fleeces! We always serve a great meal and a great time is had by all. Please leave a message if you plan on attending so I can send you directions and get a head count for lunch.

This is a lock picture of one of last year's fleeces. Jodie's fleece as well as 37 others will be available for purchase on shearing day.

Another gorgeous fleece from our Merino ewe, Melissa. When we got her, she was almost black. Now, 5 years later, her fleece is the most beautiful blue gray color. # #

Had a wonderful morning yesterday with my granddaughters. I delivered a merino fleece to , and we got a chance to visit with the alpacas. Needless to say, we were all smitten! #

Skirting two extremely different fleeces today. Ming will test at 18 microns, while Zora's fleece will be more in the mid 30s range. Both fleeces are beautiful and perfectly suited for their end use.

Now that school is out, I finally have time to get fleeces skirted and put up in the durendyeworks.etsy.com shop. These two beauties were just listed.

The weather is finally cooperating for shearing day this Saturday the 16th. We should get started around 9:30 or 10:00. The ewes are not cooperating though. We have had 4 lamb in the last 18 hours!

Due to the upcoming inclement weather, our Shearing Day scheduled for this weekend has been moved to Saturday, March 16. I apologize for the inconvenience and hope those that planned on coming out can make it on the new date.

Our Shear Day at the Ranch has been scheduled for March 2, 2024, weather permitting. You are invited to come spend the day with us while we shear our 31 colored Merino, Border Leicester, and Merino/Border Leicester cross sheep. Fleeces will be available for purchase fresh off the sheep's back. The mill will be open and the Etsy shop will be set up as well. After the work is done, you are welcome to join us and our shearing crew for a relaxing lunch and good conversation. Shearing should start around 10am. Please message me for directions if you plan on attending.

My daughter and son-in-law blessed us today by driving up to the ranch to help us get caught up on some work. While my son-in-law cut up a fallen tree, my daughter and granddaughters helped us move almost all our sheep to different paddocks. Now we are relaxing and enjoying the warmth from the fire pit. The hens are enjoying it too!
