I just want to make a post about yesterday's event!❤️

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for everyone that came out to support my fellow breeder friends and I. Yall are so amazing!

We sold so many birds! And I got to meet some amazing people that have been following my journey. Plus catch up with some of my friends💗

A random supporter came up to me mid day and just gave me the biggest hug and we talked about the loss of my breeders. Thats the most seen and genuine conversation that my heart really needed... I appreciate you and I have not been able to stop thinking about it.

Ericka Utz from Cheeky Chicken Ranch so kindly put together an amazing raffle during event to raise funds for me to help with the cost of fixing my breeding coop, purchasing new birds, and save for the new roof we will be putting on my coop before winter comes ❤️ I cant tell you how kind you are and how much i appreciate you❤️ So thank you to Ericka and also thank you to everyone who donated items for that❤️

This is some GREAT info !!!

Don’t let Black birds with light down trick you into thinking they’re Blue.

I saw a few posts recently where the comments stated for a fact that a bird was Blue just because the down was light colored. Silkies are tough nuts to crack when it comes to figuring out whether they’re Blue or Black… The honest truth and the only real way to find out is by breeding to a Splash bird or a bird that is without a doubt Blue.

When breeding Black, it’s best to choose a bird that is as black and as dark as possible with beetle green sheen (not purple).

When breeding Blue, it’s best to stay away from a bird that looks too close to black and has the feather sheen of a Black bird.

These sentiments apply to other breeds beyond Silkies.

There is all too much work to get done in this variety and we are nowhere close to acceptance.

They have been here for over a month and one of the buff girls decided to surprise me 😍

Anyone else hate posting their best birds? I feel like in the past I have posted like my best birds and then they die like within that week. I know it literally sounds crazy but its the truth😆😭🫠
