Pack Pupdate: Holly and Lincoln have decided to be best buds!

Willow is keeping to herself as she isn’t feeling really great these days, but she is also being patient with Holly when she has to be.

The corn is extra tall this year!

This lovely neighborhood ride concluded with us eating the last peaches of the season 😔

It took a lot of searching to find a dropped peach without any rot or insects, but the sweet and juicy reward was worth the effort.

Why don’t we have pictures of us eating the peaches? Because our hands were so sticky and the juice was dripping down our arms 😆 By the way, the horses LOVE it when we share!

Welcome, Holly! (Previously know as Jackie)

It’s only been 24 hours and she is already settling in beautifully. Linc and Willow are also beginning to relax, but it’s so exciting to have a cute new sister!!

So many new things to take in … new people, new animals (horses!!), new sounds, new routines. Whew! It’s a lot for a sweet little pup!

Lake Orchard Farm is a long way from the streets of Georgia where Holly and her sisters were found. Soon she will learn that life can be sweet and calm, and filled with love and treats.

Perfect summer day!

Our ride included woods and some tricky water crossings that were complicated by downed trees and lots of mud, but the vineyards, orchards and corn fields were glorious!

Our region has been dealing with dangerous air quality from the fires burning in Canada, and those of us with horses hold an extra level of concern.

It is disheartening to hear the uneducated responses to this crisis that suggest our Canadian friends are somehow doing this intentionally.

Allow me to put my teacher hat on for a moment …

EDUCATE YOURSELF. Read. Fact check. Read some more. Think critically. No single source of information is adequate when learning about complex topics.

James Bewley made us a fabulous track on the north side of our driveway! Two 60’ circles surrounded by a 120’ oval 😍

Jim used the cultivator attachment on the tractor and went over it all a billion times, creating a soft sandy path for us to ride on. He’s the best farm hand a horse girl could have 💕

Welcome to our little trail crew, Pistol June!

June is Maureen Dallas ‘s new Quarter Horse mare, and she handled our neighborhood trails like a pro. Charlie and Spirit approve!

Mid July is beautiful in Niagara County. The woods are lush, the cow corn is getting tall and the pie cherries are being harvested as I post this.
