As the 2023 Loup County Fair and show season has now come to an end. We are getting our calves for our Cream of the Crop Sale, Oct 25th on SCOnlinesales, ready for Nebraska State Fair and Kansas City Royal.

County Fair Results:

Claira:
Champion Sr. Beef Showman, Champion Hereford Heifer, Overall Champion Breeding Beef, Overall Champion Stocker Feeder Steer.

Chase:
Champion Junior Beef Showman, Reserve Champion Overall Breeding Beef. He also showed pigs, and a chicken at fair as well!!

Corbin: Clover Kid, so he took a pig and chicken, didn't get to take Beef as we didn't have a bucket calf available for him to show this year. He was not happy when he couldn't take his heifer he has gotten to show all year! Next year he will be 4-H age.

Both Claira and Chase participated in the Premium Auction. They both are very grateful for all that attended the auction and bid on them. Thank you to all the bidders and buyers that was there supporting the youth at the 2023 Loup County Fair Premium Auction.

It never fails, the yellow slickers have to come out, when we are out getting our show cattle collected for this year's Cream of the Crop Sale, held on the Wednesday after Royal. More information to come on our sale in the next coming weeks.

That's a wrap folks for Hereford Junior Nationals!! Friday was our last day in Madison WI, Chase was the first class to start the day off with his heifer 699, they placed seventh in class, Chase was ok with that but hates it when mom starts taking pictures 📸. Claira was the last class of the day with her heifer 559 and received a 9th place finish in class. Super proud of the kids and their cattle for how well they did during a tough show. They had fun, making memories with new and old friends and experiencing good cattle.

Part 2 for Thursday- Corbin got to finish up showing his heifer at Jr. Nationals for the year. Corbin and his heifer decide to work together THIS time and walked away with a 7th place finish in Class.

Yesterday was SHOWMANSHIP Day for the kiddos. Super proud of ALL the Nebraska kids that participated and went out and showed their hearts out! Claira was in Intermediate Showmanship, Heat 11 out of 24, made it back to Semi Finals. Chase and Corbin was in PeeWee showmanship Heat 9 out of 12 heats. Chase's heifer show well, BUT Corbin's heifer was not so cooperative and was impatient. Let's just say she got to walk back to the barn the LONG way around!!

Happy Independence Day! Hope everyone has a safe and fun 4th, Thank you to all those who served to keep us free and to celebrate the day!

We are busy packing and getting things done so we can head to Madison, WI for the National Junior Hereford show. We can’t wait to see everyone there and have the best week making new friends and enjoying old friends. Good luck to all the juniors and their cattle showing.
