Our services include animal interactive therapeutic activities. Alegria means happiness in Spanish which is what we strive to provide. No public access.

We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of seniors, adults and children. Alegria Therapeutic Center D.B.A. Alegria Ranch is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of seniors, adults and children. The programs utilize all animals and assets on the ranch to enhance the lives of any child 4 years and older of any gender, race, physical and mental abilities, or socioeconomic status who are in need can participate in the program. Located on a private ranch on 30 acres in Bush, Louisiana, Alegria is a certified full-service animal assisted therapeutic center, complete with over 60 animals, including large and miniature horses and donkeys, sheep, goats, dogs, cats, chickens, a mini potbellied pig, an alpaca and a handsome rooster named Brad Pitt. The center is wheelchair accessible and includes barns, an activities arena, ranch house, and an educational teaching area. As a non-profit 501(c)(3) all proceeds go straight into our programs and animal care. We are a private facility - by appointment or invitation only. Financial Assistance May be Available!

At only 4 months old, Max already takes his job very seriously! He loves sitting quietly and keeping a watchful eye over the herd, making sure everyone is safe and accounted for. Such a sweet little guardian in training! 🐾🐴🐮❤️

Sometimes nature reminds us to pause.

This beautiful morning at Alegria Ranch, the sunlight streamed through the old oak tree, creating a quiet moment of pure beauty. It reminded us how fortunate we are to call this peaceful place home—and to share it with our students, families, volunteers, and more than 60 wonderful animals.

There is healing in the stillness, strength in the sunlight, and joy in the simple beauty all around us. This is Alegria Ranch. 💛🌳☀️

Our beautiful, decades-old pine tree was struck by lightning about a month ago. 🌲💔

We hoped it might pull through, but over the past few weeks we’ve watched its once-green canopy slowly turn brown. It’s heartbreaking to see such a magnificent old tree dying.

It has weathered countless storms, hurricanes and Louisiana summers—but one bolt of lightning was just too much.

We’re going to miss this beautiful old giant. 🌲⚡💔

Forget the fancy toys—give Max a sprinkler and he’s living his BEST life! 😂💦 Apparently, getting soaked is the highlight of his day.

Nature gave us a special surprise at Alegria Ranch. 🦝🤍

A young albino raccoon has been stopping by for nighttime visits. With its beautiful white coat and curious spirit, this rare little visitor reminds us that sometimes the most magical moments happen when we least expect them.

We're honored to share our ranch with such a unique guest. ✨

After a torrential Louisiana downpour, the skies over Alegria Ranch gave us a little reminder that beauty always follows the storm 🌈✨

A breathtaking double rainbow stretched right over the barn, and for a moment everything just stood still. The animals were calm, the air was fresh, and the ranch looked absolutely magical.

Sometimes the best moments happen right after the worst storm . ❤️

A month later and these chicks went from tiny fluff balls to full-on backyard chaos 😂🐥

They’ve got feathers now, attitudes, and absolutely zero fear. They run up like they own the place, fight over snacks like it’s a full-time job, and somehow always manage to make a mess in under 5 minutes.

Every single one has a personality—there’s the bossy one, the dramatic one, and the one that still acts like it has no idea what’s going on.

Not gonna lie… they grew way faster than I expected. But they’re a whole lot more entertaining now 😄🐥

Happy Monday from the pond 🌿💜

These beautiful blooms are Louisiana irises—one of nature’s quiet showstoppers right here in the South. Growing naturally along ponds, bayous, and wetlands, they thrive in water and sunshine, reminding us how something so delicate can also be incredibly resilient.

The Louisiana iris is also the inspiration behind the fleur-de-lis, a symbol often associated with strength, faith, and new beginnings. Fitting for a Monday, don’t you think? ✨
