Apiary Summer Check-In 🐝🍯
Last year, we made a big investment in our apiary by adding four new hives. This year, we invested in new wooden hive equipment to keep up with our growing colonies.
We’re now up to eight hives, and they’re producing so well that we just had to order more honey supers! Six new supers arrived this morning, and four of them were added to the hives right away.
That brings us to 24 honey supers currently in production. 🤯
For us hobby beekeepers, that’s a lot! Now we’ll see what the bees do with all that extra space. Time will tell… 🍯🐝
Just a reminder: We harvest honey only once a year, in late summer, just before the goldenrod begins to bloom. 🍯🐝
We’re excited to see what this season brings, so stay tuned for harvest updates!
