Good Morning starshines 🌟
I wanted to share something that I learned today that you may find interesting and helpful as well!! 🧠
A little background, I have a group of free range chickens and a group that are in a coop and run. As many have discovered in their chicken tending, chickens absolutely demolish anything green in their run in record time. ⏱️
I personally like to supplement by adding greens back in now that the ground in their run is barren and desolate. I supplement by foraging for greens in my backyard here in central florida. 🌴
There's an abundance of different plants that may be growing in your own backyard you can use to supplement your chickens who dont have the free ranging freedom. 🌱
This is a brand new one I just learned about today! I thought I had wild carrots growing but it was just some weeds. 🥲
Luckily those "weeds" are fantastic treats to supplement my chickens in the run for their greens!! 🥬
Next time you go to your backyard to check on the chickens, take your phone and try using Google lenses to identify wild plants you can give to your chickens for added health benefits! Had no idea this could also help prevent cocci and parasites. 🦠
In NOT saying it replaces actual medication and treatment, but it can't hurt to add it in to their diet as a supplement 🌿
