🍑 Take a Moment to Smell the Peaches 🍑

Y’all… how is it already August?!

The last few months have been a whirlwind of all the things — work, farm chores, home projects, farm projects, softball, puppy attention, family trips, boat days, and everything in between.

If you look up “living life in the fast lane,” I’m pretty sure you’ll find us front and center! 😂

But the other day, in the middle of all the rushing and checking things off the never-ending to-do list, I stopped.

I literally took a moment to smell the peaches. 🍑

And you know what? It was wonderful.

That sweet smell of fresh peaches reminded me just how easy it is to stay so busy taking care of life that we forget to actually enjoy it.

There will always be another chore to do, another project waiting, another practice to get to, and another thing that needs our attention. But these days, these seasons, and these little moments are passing by whether we slow down for them or not.

So here’s your reminder — and mine — to slow down every once in a while. Look around. Take it all in. Be thankful for the busy, but make room for the beautiful, too.

Life doesn’t always have to slow down for us to slow down. Sometimes we just have to stop long enough to smell the peaches. 🍑❤️

Hello! We are downsizing the farm and have a wonderful and proven breeding pair of Idaho Pasture Pigs (IPP) (3 years old) available. We also have some feeders available as well (8 weeks old). I cannot say enough about this breed! Super docile! Easy on the land, easy to handle (great for a 4H project) and the meat quality is fabulous!

After a lot of thought and many difficult conversations, we’ve made the unfortunate decision to stop selling our pork products at SOF Market.

As many of you know, our farm is a family-run operation, and like many small farms, we balance farming with full schedules, family commitments, and the day-to-day responsibilities that come with both. Recently, we experienced a major setback when our freezer failed, resulting in a loss that would put us far deeper into the hole than we could realistically recover from at this time.

This was not an easy decision. We have truly enjoyed providing farm-raised pork to our community and building relationships with so many of our loyal customers. Your support, encouragement, and belief in local agriculture have meant more to us than words can express.

We are going to also start phasing out our pork operation and focus completely on raising our Dexter cattle. We will have our amazing farm fresh pork available for farm pickup and local delivery over the next year.

While this chapter is coming to a close, we are incredibly grateful for everyone who has supported us along the way. Farming is full of highs and lows, and although this is a difficult moment, we remain thankful for the experiences, friendships, and memories we’ve made through this journey.

Thank you for supporting our family farm and for understanding this difficult decision.
