Sweet & Savory Farmette Sweet & Savory Farmette is a very diverse little homestead farm. We pack a lot of adventure into that space. Either way we have you covered from head to toe.

Sweet & Savory Farmette is a VERY small farm occupying only 7 and a half acres in the bustling rural metropolis of Buskirk, NY (population of less than 1000) situated on the New York and Vermont border. From this little plot of land, we supply our local community and beyond with fiber, food, flowers, and fun. On the sweet side, depending on the season and availability you can enjoy some wildflower honey, maple syrup, raspberries, or apples. If you prefer things on the savory side our shiitake mushrooms or chicken and duck eggs may be to your liking. No matter what you are very likely to just have a fun time visiting either virtually or in person when the farm is open. The antics of the seven types of poultry are entertaining enough, but the alpacas are so darned cute. The super soft pygora goats may be more your thing if you are into mohair. Covered in alpaca hats, socks, gloves and such, that is. Alpaca yarn is also available if you just want to build your own creation.

As I have mentioned before this is the original account for the farm. Below is the current account link. It would help a lot if all 500+ followers of the original account would migrate over to the current account & like it. Maybe interact on the posts.

Summer is here. Enjoy it!

This was the original Sweet & Savory Farmette page. It was hacked and I had no access. A new page was started a couple years ago. Please follow the new page. Here is a link. NOT a scam. It’s really Thom’s farm page. https://www.facebook.com/share/181WeZ6ycV/?mibextid=wwXIfr

It’s a bit steamy out here.

My ducks are not in a row, but about half the pea fowl are at least.

First batch of sap is boiling away. Late & bumpy start to the day & the season. Might not set any records this year but there will be some maple syrup at least. It’s going to be a long night!

Sap season has begun! On just the first 35 or so taps we collected 55 gallons today. The new improved sap lines are definitely producing. Even on a cloudy day. Put in a bunch more taps with help from the Mighty Miranda the past few days. About half way done. A late start due to Covid, but the sap sure is flowing well this year. If the weather cooperates, Thursday will be the first boil of the season. May need to hold off to Friday evening if its too wet. One of these years I will build a propped sugar shack.
