Please read, very important.

This could be the most important thing that you see us post! Its an epidemic this year, and these things are as lethal as a venomous snake in the wrong senerio! Please not only read it, but share it! Make sure we get the word out about these tics and the disease they carry!

It's summer! Time for camping, hiking and getting outside to play. Don't let those pesky annoying ticks stop you. Here's how with a simple homemade solution!

Repellent for your pets:

For pets, add 1 cup of water to a spray bottle, followed by 2 cups of distilled white vinegar. Ticks hate the smell and taste of vinegar, and will be easily be repelled by this ingredient alone. Then, add two spoonfuls of vegetable or almond oil, which both contain sulfur (another natural tick repellent).

To make a repellent that will also deter fleas, mix in a few spoonfuls of lemon juice, citrus oil, or peppermint oil, any of which will repel ticks and fleas while also creating a nicely scented repellent. Spray onto the pet's dry coat, staying away from sensitive areas including eyes, nose, mouth, and ge****ls. When outdoors for an extended period, spray this solution on two to three times per day.

For you and your family:

In a spray bottle, mix 2 cups of distilled white vinegar and 1 cup of water. To make a scented solution so you do not smell like bitter vinegar all day, add 20 drops of your favorite essential oil.

Eucalyptus oil is a calm, soothing scent that also works as a tick repellent, while peppermint and citrus oils give off a strong crisp scent that also repel ticks.

After mixing the solution, spray onto clothing, skin, and hair before going outdoors. Reapply every four hours to keep ticks at bay, and examine your skin and hair when back inside to make sure no ticks are on the body.

If you have ever shared anything, please click share on this! WE must get the word spread about the dangers of Ticks and how to avoid them!

I ain’t lying when I say Farmer’s got cabbage as big as your head.

Well, then too his other veggies are mighty amazing as well. The cukes are delicious and not a bitter to them at all. I eat them like candy. Great for your pickles and vinegar in your fridge like Farmer loves so much.

The squash and zucchini are yummy and don’t dull in flavor when cooked at all, perfect for grillin’, especially our unique griller zucchini, and breading and frying or sautéed.

Top all your salads or mix with your stir fry some of these green onions. They’ll take potato salad to the next level!

Then there’s the broccoli and cauliflower! Oh my! Raw, grilled, steamed or stir fried, amazing! Some of the best I think we’ve grown.

It may be soggy, but you ought to at least eat good if you can’t get outside and enjoy the holiday weekend. Come on down to the Pendleton County Farmers' Market tomorrow and grab up this goodness grown right here in Pendleton County. Fresh as you can get, unless you’re grazing in the field. 🤣

Had enough of the rain, but that doesn’t slow my Farmer down. He will just work on rainy day tasks.

Slung some beautiful honey yesterday and it is a delightful light liquid. It’s very reflective of the abundance of white clover, fruit blossoms, honeysuckle and black locust that we’ve been blessed with this year.

He then tied up cucumbers and tomatoes in the high tunnels. All the veggies in the tunnels look fabulous and we are blessed to be enjoying that bounty.

So, for today he’s dressing out the last of the tilapia for this round of harvesting. Would you take a look at the size of these things?! Then he will be off to harvesting veggies to bring to the market tomorrow.

Land sakes! So thankful for the blessings around us and the ability to take care of what the Lord has blessed us with. God made a farmer.

I love my pretty posies! This is what I get from just clipping for growth, and is only a smidge of the ones left to do. Short stems but a promise of beautiful flowers coming on. Have to say I got my love of flowers from my momma and my grandma. I come from a long line of posie growers.
I loved their pronunciation of flowers, it sounded like fleur, not flower. Strange the things we cherish and remember.

All set and ready to go! Y’all come on down and grab up some goodness. Follow me to the market!
