We have officially started kidding..4 kids on the ground with 2 of them being bottle babies. All kids and moms are doing great and patiently waiting for the other 4 ladies to kid.
After not having kids last year this is so exciting.

It’s been awhile since I have posted…Last year was a hard year on us, we lost our entire flock (ducks, geese, chickens, turkeys and guineas) to Avain Flu, lost a few loved livestock and medical issues.
Going into 2023 with positive vibes we will be having more piglets, cows will be calving end of February goats will be kidding end of February, we will be adding new poultry in March and we added sweet Maggie to our farmstead.
Life is a struggle and having animals brings you both heartache and joy. We look forward to the 2023 and pray for a healthy year.

Winter is right around the corner, we are now in hunker down mode. Goats are bred and we should be having kids late February.
We got 5 piglets that we are growing out this winter to see how big they get and how fast they grow.
We have a gilt due middle of November and 2 more gilts that will be bred in late January so we have spring piglets.
Hopefully we can get our 2 heifer and 1 steer calves home from pasture today to ween and then our bred cows a week after. We should have calves hitting the ground in March/April timeframe.
Working on getting the barns ready and finishing up on the pole barn for the goats and cows.
We added some more turkeys, Muscovy ducks and chickens this year along with a whole new line of pigs.
We got a new guardian dog in May and he has become part of the Family and does a great job with his goats.
Hoping we have an easy winter this year, but we are definitely set up for any kind of weather that Mother Nature may bring
