Yes I cleaned and disinfected my bathroom after this.

I love bumblebees! They are wicked important native pollinators. They pollinate early flowering crops like blueberries, apple trees, and cranberries.

I told myself I would never brood again as birds are nasty (ESPECIALLY baby ducks), but here I am 4 years later doing it again. (Damned fox).
However, I learned a lot from the first time. The most important thing was to wait until evening temps were above 40-45 °F (minimum) so I can keep them in the shed.
If they are messy in the shed?

Who cares, it is a shed.
More importantly it's NOT in my house!

Now that doesn't mean I'm not keeping them clean and dry to the same level, trust me that is a more than a daily task. I just don't need or want those lingering odors in my house.
It is worse than a neglected cat box.

It is a good thing they are so stinking (pun intended) cute.

Thank you for letting me rant. 😅

I told myself I would never brood baby ducks again because they are SO messy, but I lost a bunch of birds to a fox.

They were so happy when I brought home a second hand kiddie pool! It never stays clean for very long however 🙃

The project list is endless on a homestead, and it gets rearranged often depending on needs and materials!

They have settled in nicely with my flock and are unique characters for sure! They are actually quite friendly with humans. The female definitely has a goose appropriate attitude and the gander will ask for pets ❤️
Tomorrow and Monday I'll be focused on building a better fence to keep the damned fox out of my yard.

I installed the hook style baby locks when I had a baby. They are no longer a baby, but I had to keep and upgrade the locks because of this cat and her mother Morticia 🤦🏼

They say curiosity 💀 the cat... that's why I have baby locks even though my child is no longer a baby 🤣

Posting again because the algorithm apparently does not enjoy these announcements...
Rooster drop off for April is coming up! All birds (chicken, duck, goose, male, female, young, old) are welcome. Please bring them in a ventilated box or crate that you can leave.
We typically receive over 100 roosters a month, so crate donations are always appreciated!
I can also take larger animals, just give me a heads up!
