Sorry for the beautiful tease 😉 These are a few blooms that did make it. No Peonies this year for sale. 😜

I hobby farm because the pressure is so much lighter than if I depended on it for income. And this year? It’s been wild. The heat came early and just stayed.

For me, it caused what’s called bud blast. The buds were tiny, overheated, and thirsty—so they basically said, “Nope, not this year.” Done before they ever had a chance to open.

I’ve only had about 10% actually produce—and that’s on a scale closer to a large home garden. Normally, my blooms would just be getting started right now.

But my late bloomers (the ones that usually show up mid-May) are the only ones looking good—and they’re blooming now… a full month early.

God bless the ones who do this for a living. 🙏🏼

What breaks the winter blues?
The first spring blooms.
Daffodils and hellebores are some of the earliest signs that the garden is waking up again.
I won’t be selling these this year, but keep an eye out… the peonies are coming. 🌸

Willow is blooming. 🌿
I’ve let this willow grow out for two years, and I’m grateful for what it’s giving.
Friday, in the warm sun, I could hear the steady hum — bees 🐝 gathering food.
Early spring can be a tender time for a hive. Colonies are waking up, baby bees are beginning to grow, and winter stores are nearly gone.
There aren’t many blooms yet — which makes willow one of the first quiet gifts of the season.
That little yellow bundle on her back leg? It’s pollen, carefully gathered and tucked into a tiny pollen basket. She’ll carry it home to nourish the next generation. 🌿✨

The early bloomers are starting to pop up. So are the weeds lol!
