Thank you to our 500 team members, vendor partners and volunteers from Convoy of Hope, Operation Homefront and Folds of Honor for joining together to take care of our communities. At our third Helping Hands Day, volunteers packed meal boxes to help those impacted by natural disasters. Volunteers assembled more than 15,000 boxes — 500,000 meals — along with an additional donation of 5,000 bags of essential personal care items.

Each box will help support a family of four for one week. Products were generously donated by our vendor partners, including Kraft, Dairy Farmers of America, Quaker Foods, Seneca Foods, Hometown Foods and Winland.

Retail locations that generated the highest donations held a special check presentation ceremony, including: Martin’s Super Markets in South Bend, Ind.; Family Fare in Bismarck, Neb.; Family Fare/Supermercado in Omaha, Neb; and Metcalfe’s in Madison, Wis. Dawn Bredeweg, manager of corporate giving, also presented a check during the opening ceremonies of the Michigan Special Olympics Summer Games.

Happy Earth Day! 🌎

SpartanNash is proud to partner with Home Repair Services and Trex® for the third year in a row —transforming recycled plastic grocery bags into accessibility ramps for neighbors in need. Through our Bags 2 Boards™ program, plastic bags collected year-round at Family Fare®, Martin’s Super Market, D&W® Fresh Market and Forest Hills Foods are upcycled into durable decking — each ramp giving new life to about 157,500 bags.

Since 2024, SpartanNash team members and Home Repair Services have built nine ramps for local veterans and community members across West Michigan — and this year we’re continuing the tradition.

Want to help? Recycle your plastic bags anytime in the bins located at the entrance of all SpartanNash stores.

Across Michigan and Indiana, we’re continuing to invest in the stores and communities our shoppers rely on every day.

Recent remodels at Family Fare locations in Pennfield, Harrison and St. Ignace, along with a milestone refresh at Martin's Super Markets in Goshen, reflect our commitment to delivering a modernized grocery experience while serving as a hometown gathering place and honoring each store’s unique role in its community. From expanded fresh departments and improved store flow to upgraded layouts designed for how families shop today, these projects represent thoughtful, long-term investments across multiple banners.

We’re proud of the store teams who led these transformations and the communities who showed up to celebrate alongside them.
