Along with their 2 little boys, they raise quality honeybee hives for pollination services and produce 3 types of raw, pure, unfiltered, local honey. The honey stand is a self-service honesty stand stocked with Wildflower, Tupelo, and Sourwood honey. Honeycomb, Honey with Comb, and Pecans n' Honey is available upon request. September is National Honey Month, and we're kicking off a series on one of Georgia's most important pollinators: the honey bee. Follow along all month as we dig into how bees support our environment, our food supply, and our health.

We encountered something we haven’t seen before while extracting our late wildflower honey today….PURPLE HONEY! We think it is from Kudzu, but just to be safe we left it out of the harvest and will give it back to the bees.

This shows how diverse Georgia’s nectar sources are. It also goes to show that you can’t control where honeybees get their nectar from! This is why your wildflower honey can taste and look different from hive to hive.

I’m going to need these honeybees to fix their waggle dance and find a different nectar source! 😂

Join us in praying for rain for Georgia and more specifically South Georgia. Drought can be devastating for farmers and ranchers but when wildfires are added in it’s catastrophic.

Beekeepers are not immune to the consequences of drought. Without water, plants can’t make nectar and bees can’t make honey.

Let’s keep our neighbors on our minds and hearts as we go about our days ahead and pray for a good soaking rain!
