Shine is one of those does that is just put together right. She's smoothly blended from front to rear, feminine, balanced, and has all the right pieces - they just flow together so nicely. ❤️

If I could change anything, I'd love to see a little more body length and, honestly, for her to just mature a bit more. She still looks very "green" to me, which isn't a bad thing - it just means I think she has a lot more developing to do as she grows into herself.

That's exactly why I chose Doc for her.

I believe he'll add the extra body length I'm looking for while maintaining all of the qualities I already love about Shine. That's always the goal when making breeding decisions - not to completely change a doe, but to build on her strengths while making thoughtful improvements.

I just realized I never posted anymore about my planned breedings 😅

Well in trying to get a few October kiddings and December/January kiddings it looks like we have one early November kidding and 2 January kiddings. So mission mostly failed unfortunately lol.

BUT that November kidding is one I’m super excited about!

Orchid is mostly a brood doe that has proven to produce better than herself and that’s saying something! Orchid’s main lack is in her mammary. She lacks capacity and medial for example that Doc’s dam excels in so this should be a pretty great cross!

I am considering letting Kitty go, and this is absolutely no fault of her own. She is a very nice little doe with a lot to offer the right program. She excels in dairy strength, upstandingness, correctness of feet and pasterns, brisket extension, and maintaining a beautiful level topline all the way through her rump.

As I continue to downsize and really narrow in on the bloodlines I want to build my herd around, Kitty simply isn’t part of the direction I’ve decided to take my program. By no means is she a cull, nor does she have to leave. This is simply an opportunity for someone else to add a quality young doe with bloodlines that may complement their program.

She would be especially exciting for someone looking to bring new bloodlines into their herd or for someone who already has related animals and wants to build on those lines.

Even more exciting - Kitty has been exposed to Stratton Creek C Doc Holliday *B, and she appears to be bred, with a January due date!

I would love to see her go to a performance herd if possible!

Doc is being offered due to no fault of his own. With downsizing the doe herd, I simply don’t need four bucks, and I’ve decided to narrow down the bloodlines I want to continue moving forward with.

That being said, Doc is a very nice buck and deserves a program where his qualities can be put to good use!

He is long, wide, angular, and has exceptional dairy strength. His dam is an exceptional doe with a very correct mammary system, making him an especially interesting option for someone looking to add those qualities to their herd.

This is strictly a program downsizing decision, not a reflection of Doc's quality. ❤️

Well my last year showing as a youth exhibitor at the Lonoke County Fair was a total success! I really appreciate all the help and support from everyone this week! On top of all the awards my goats won this past week I also won Overall Dairy Goat Showman as well as I came in second for Poultry Showmanship and I am just so incredibly grateful! Tater is being offered due to no fault of her own. She is a doeling I’m really excited about and one that I believe has a lot of potential for the future!

She is already showing great width, angularity, and exceptional dairy strength, which she gets from her dam. I also really like the improvement she shows over her dam in several areas, making her an exciting young prospect to watch mature. 🤩

Tater is still young and has plenty of growing and developing left to do, but I think she has all the right pieces to make someone a very nice addition to their herd! ❤️
