Everyone has been enjoying the warm sunshine and fresh spring grasses. The collars have been working great for the bulls and cow herd at the leased pasture.

Today we got the bulls and some of the steers out on grass in their Gallagher Eshephard training paddock. They’re learning how their new collars work for a better more effective grazing of the pasture. This should help improve the productivity and health of the pasture as well.

I’m behind a bit on calving updates! We’ve had 2 more bull calves and 1 more heifer calf since my last post.

It’s amazing how much cows love to graze. Even with the 10 inches of snow we got, the cows are choosing to graze the millet through the snow rather than eat the hay we put out for them. Such cute snow snouts they have ❤️🐄

What a beautiful day it was today! Dakota spent the day getting another side of the fence built and putting up temporary fence so the cows could graze down some of the Japanese Millet we were unable to get to yet without the fence done.

After much thought and planning, we want to share that this Saturday, February 21st, will be our last farmers market.

We are so incredibly grateful for every single one of you who has supported us by purchasing our retail cuts of beef over the years. Your encouragement, conversations, and commitment to local agriculture have meant more to us than we can say.

Moving forward, we will no longer be offering individual retail cuts. We will continue selling quarters, halves, and whole beef, as well as ground beef.

We’re also excited about what’s ahead — we are building our herd and will soon begin offering breeding stock. Our focus is on low-input, forage-raised, registered Red Angus cattle, bred for efficiency, longevity, and real-world performance.

This isn’t an ending — it’s a shift in direction. Thank you for being part of our journey. We hope to see you Saturday at Down to Earth Garden Center to help us clear out the last of our retail cuts inventory and that you’ll continue with us in this next chapter.
