Meet Karen Schmidt — founder of SIX13

What started as a moment beneath the Acropolis during a trip to Greece quickly became a four-year pursuit to create something entirely new behind the bar.

Inspired by the unexpected combination of fig and apple, Karen handcrafted 113 batches in her kitchen, working obsessively to perfect a modern liqueur designed to elevate the cocktails we already love.

But SIX13 became more than a spirit.

Following a breast cancer diagnosis, Karen found herself thinking differently about flavor, indulgence, connection, and the moments worth slowing down for.

That perspective became the foundation for SIX13 — a modern modifier created to bring curiosity, conversation, and creativity back to the glass.
