A little late, but better than never! Thanks to everyone who came out to our April edition of Leasing Organic Farmland Meet & Greet at Boise Brewing. We had a lively discussion and launched our Idaho Gives campaign during this meeting.

If you've been to one of our events, you've likely met one or a few of us, but here we all are in one place at one time! Last week Taproots Working Group, Board of Directors, and staff gathered to celebrate the progress of Taproots and our amazing Idaho Gives campaign.

What do all of these groups do?

The Working Group plays and advising role to the incubator farm. They’ve been meeting for over a year to help envision and sculpt this thing from the ground up!

The Board of Directors helps us with our strategy and fiduciary responsibilities.

Our staff is on the ground doing the work!

Front row: Lisa Wilson (Office Administrator), Casey O’Leary (Executive Director), and Ben Brock (Working Group). Back row: Shana Moore (Board Member), Janie Burns (Board President), Joe Redden (Working Group), Elaine Kazakoff (Board Treasurer), Genny Gerke (Assistant Program Coordinator), Lyndsey Mulherin (Working Group), and McKenna Schmitt (Director of Development and Community Outreach).

Taproots Farm Hub partnered with CWI's Horticulture program to offer an Emerging Farmer's Field Day in the Dry Creek area outside of Boise, ID. Participants visited organically grown small-scale producers: Whistlepig Farm, Blackfox Farm, Fiddler's Green Farm, Sun-Dog Flower Farm, and Dry Creek Ranch Neighborhood Farm.

At Taproots Farm Hub, we are re-imagining Treasure Valley agriculture by creating a supportive incubator that offers secure land, shared resources, training, and market opportunities for organic farmers.
