One of the best parts of Take Root is watching students build lives that align with who they truly are.

Alice, from southern Illinois, has already spent years helping people heal through her work as a massage therapist. Now, she’s taking that same care and intention into a new venture: flower farming. 🌿

Alice is currently growing and expanding her iris collection, with plans to specialize in these stunning blooms as her farm grows. It’s been so exciting watching her blend creativity, wellness, and agriculture into something uniquely her own.

Great work, Alice. We can’t wait to see where this journey takes you 💐

An evening you’ll remember for a long time 🌿🎶

This Father’s Day weekend, join us for a sunset hike-in concert tucked inside the limestone quarry at Farmers Rising. Surrounded by towering stone walls, forest, and summer skies, we’ll gather for an intimate evening of music, storytelling, and connection.

We’re honored to welcome Eric and Dan Hanson, a father-son duo from the Stateline area whose acoustic performance blends bluegrass, classic rock, and generations of shared love for music. Many of the instruments played throughout the evening are handcrafted by Eric himself through his luthier business, So On Strings.

Bring your own picnic, beverages, blanket, or camping chairs and settle in for a relaxed summer evening outdoors with family, friends, and community.

At Farmers Rising, we create field trips that are hands on, engaging, educational, and memorable. We want students to ask questions, get curious, and experience farming and nature in a real way.

We are so grateful to have welcomed Kathie Toulouse from Choices Natural Market to Farmers Rising Rockford to present us with a $500 donation through their incredible “Pay It Forward” program. 💚

Through this program, customers who bring reusable shopping bags receive wooden tokens that can then be donated to a featured local nonprofit. It’s such a simple but powerful way to encourage sustainability while giving back directly to organizations working in the Rockford community.

Because of customers choosing reusable bags and supporting local causes, thousands of dollars are donated to nonprofits each year, and we are honored to be one of them.

We deeply appreciate the continued support, partnership, and community spirit from everyone at Choices Natural Market and the customers who chose to support Farmers Rising through this program.
