Sweet Pines Apiary This is as close to a Beekeeper's Blog as I am going to get. I grew up with grand parents on both sides who kept bees. Enjoy! Thank you for visiting our page!

I have been keeping bees myself since 1982. I earned my Eastern Apiculture Society Master Beekeeper Certification in 1995. Sweet Pines Apiary is a family owned business that hopes to offer local honey and beeswax candle products. Although you may purchase over the web or see us at a local fair, most of our sales are through the self-serve honey stand on our front porch. We teach basic and advanced beekeeping classes all over Long Island that can be registered for by e-mail. We also offer educational presentations about honeybees for clubs and schools that can be scheduled by e-mail or phone call.

I have a few uncommitted Michigan overwintered nucs with a queen from last year, VSH Poll-line, F1 queens that are ready now. Contact me if interested. 5-Frame deep in a returnable styrofoam box - $200. Keep the box for $25. If we have done business before, you have my email and phone. They are best to contact me. If not use messenger but I don't watch it as carefully.

I try not to produce honey. I really try to produce bees to sell, including nucleus colonies and queens. Honey is heavy, messy and sticky! Unfortunately, I had a very good year!. I extracted over 1000 lbs this year.

Beautiful day to check out the bees. Put nucs into deadouts so that they would have more room to grow. The Styrofoam 5-frame deeps were looking great with lots of brood and fresh pollen stores.
