Woody's Peach Orchard

Woody's Peach Orchard Woody's Peach Orchard is located 5 miles south of Hampton on US Highway 167. Our hours of operation during peach season are Monday through Saturday 7am to 6pm.

Woody's Peach Orchard was started by "Woody" Nutt over 20 years ago as a hobby to share several different varieties of freestone peaches with the public. This has grown into an orchard of almost 7 acres with 6 different varieties of peaches, the most popular being Red Globe, Cresthaven and Majestic. Under normal weather conditions the peaches should start ripening around the 4th of July.

Hello everyone! We regret to inform you that on March 16th/17th the freeze basically wiped out all of our peaches and plums for the 2026 season. It was just too cold for too many hours for the fruit to survive. We will do our best to have the orchard ready for the 2027 season. Thank you for your understanding! We look forward to hopefully seeing you in 2027, barring all freezes and/or natural disasters.

Good morning! Peach season is officially over for 2025. We know it was a crazy season, and we appreciate you all working with us as we were taking orders for Cresthavens and Elbertas. Because we didn’t have many peaches, our goal was to spread them to as many families as possible. We hope you were able to get some.

We will work hard this fall and winter to get the orchard in the best possible shape for, hopefully, a great 2026 season. We thank you all VERY MUCH for your patronage and we look forward to seeing you next year.

Good afternoon!

Sadly, the Cresthavens are all but gone. Thankfully, we were able to fill most, if not all, of the orders. There are still a fair amount of Elbertas that are slowly ripening. They are smaller this year because we left too many on the tree, but when they are ripe they are delicious. Wade will take orders for these through next week until they are gone. The price is $2 per pound. Please place your order directly with Wade at 870-807-0556.

When the Elbertas are gone, that will be the end to the 2025 peach season. We thank you all so much for your patronage, and we hope to see you all next year!!!

07/10/2025

Update: We have received more orders for Cresthavens than we have peaches. So we will not be taking any more orders for these. We still have Elbertas and will take a few more orders for those.

For those who have placed orders, we will pick again Monday morning and fill as many orders as we can. We will try and call everyone on the list Mondayto let you know if we were able to fill your order.

Also, for your information, David, at Suzanne’s Fruit Farm said that he has a pretty fair amount of Cresthavens and will open soon for those. His number is 870-798-4975. Please call him for the opening date for his orchard.

We appreciate every one of you and we are hoping for more peaches next year!

Good afternoon! As we have stated throughout this season, for many reasons, there weren't a lot of peaches this year. And now that the Cresthavens are ripening, there are even less of this variety.

So, to make it as fair as possible, under these conditions, we are making the following changes. We will pick all the peaches ourselves and take orders for them. You will need to call Wade @ 870-807-0556 to get you name of the list. We will fill the orders until we run out of peaches. Because we have so few peaches, we are limiting the orders to 1 flat (about 12 pounds) per person.
When you call to place your order, we will need your name and phone number and we will call you when your order is ready.

We may start picking over the next 2 days (Wednesday & Thursday) so they can be picked up on Friday. But PLEASE wait until we call you!!! The Elbertas are starting to ripen as well, and we will take orders for those, too. Just be sure to specify which kind you want when you call Wade. If he does not answer when you call, please leave him a message and he will call you back.

Also, we will only receive orders on Wade's phone. Do not leave a message on the Peach Shed phone. It is for information only. Also, do not leave a message in Facebook Messenger, as it will not be checked.

We are sorry for this inconvenience; but hope as many as possible can get a few peaches!!

Thank you!!

Good afternoon and Happy 4th of July eve! After a very busy day today we need to update our schedule. We had planned to possibly open for 1/2 day tomorrow, July 4th, but we can’t. The Redglobes and Majestics are basically gone. We are sorry for those that didn’t get any - it was not a good year for our peach crop. The freeze hurt, but mainly we just have too many young trees that aren’t bearing fruit yet. Hopefully the coming years will prove more fruitful!!!
We will give another update either Tuesday or Wednesday of next week to give info on the Cresthavens and Elbertas.
We thank you for your patronage and wish you all a Happy and safe 4th of July!!! 🧨

Good morning! We need to make an update to our next opening day. We posted on Saturday that we would open tomorrow, July 1, but after walking the orchard that’s not going to be possible. The peaches need a couple more days to ripen. So, we plan to open this Thursday, July 3rd at 7:00 am. The closing time is typically 5:00 pm but if it’s going to be after 3:00 pm before you can arrive, please call 870-807-0556 to be sure we are open. This past Saturday most of the riper peaches were gone by noon, and we probably should have closed then.
Also, if we still have peaches at the end of the day Thursday, we will open Friday, July 4th at 7:00 am but we will close at 12:00 noon!!
We are sorry that we had to make this change but the peaches just need more time to ripen.

Thank you,

Wade

Update: we have been picked heavily today. We will remain open until 5 pm this afternoon. We will not be open on Monday to let the remaining peaches ripen a little more. We will reopen on Tuesday morning at 7 am.

06/26/2025

Good morning! The “July” peaches are ripening earlier this year so for that reason, we are opening the orchard this Saturday, June the 28th at 7:00 am!! This will be for the Majestic and Redglobe varieties. As we have stated in previous posts, there is NOT a bumper crop this year but because these two varieties are ripening at the same time , there will be quite a lot of peaches. Although there will be some ripe peaches Saturday, most will be firm so they should travel well.
The price will be $2.00 per pound unless we pick and those will have an additional $0.25 per pound picking charge. And as always, if you are physically unable to pick, there will be no picking charge.
We will open the gate promptly at 7:00 am on Saturday morning and we plan to close at 5:00 pm bc of the heat. If you are running late, please give us a call at 870-807-0556 and we will wait for you.

Also- there are still a lot of small Harvesters that are ripe and because of the dry conditions now, they have gotten a lot sweeter and have a wonderful peach flavor. So if you want to pick them the price will be $1.50 per pound.

The orchard will be open this Thursday and Friday as well, for these small Harvesters. We will be working in the orchard getting things ready for the Saturday opening so just look us up if you are wanting some of these early peaches.

Thank you and look forward seeing you!!

06/23/2025

Good afternoon! Thank you to everyone who came out for the Harvesters! We are basically done with this variety, so the orchard will be closing until our next variety is ready.

There are some small harvesters left and we have decided to sell those for $1.50 per pound. Though our signs will be down, the gate will be open. We will be working around the orchard, so please come down to the peach shed and get our attention if you are interested in the remaining Harvesters.

We are watching our next varieties closely, and we will post closer to the end of the week, when our opening day for the next varieties will be.

See y’all soon!
