This creamy Maple Walnut Fudge is rich, buttery, and filled with the warm flavor of real maple syrup and crunchy toasted walnuts. It has a smooth, melt-in-your-mouth texture with plenty of nutty crunch, making it a cozy homemade treat for holidays, dessert trays, or whenever you're craving something sweet and indulgent.
Ingredients:
• 3 cups granulated sugar (600 g)
• 3/4 cup unsalted butter (170 g)
• 3/4 cup evaporated milk (180 ml)
• 1/2 cup pure maple syrup (120 ml)
• 2 cups white chocolate chips (340 g)
• 1 jar marshmallow creme, about 7 oz (198 g)
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 1/2 teaspoon maple extract, optional, for a stronger maple flavor
• 1 cup walnuts, toasted and roughly chopped (115 g)
• 1/4 teaspoon salt
How to make it:
Line an 8-inch or 9-inch square baking pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang on the sides for easy removal. Lightly grease the parchment and set the pan aside.
Place the granulated sugar, butter, evaporated milk, maple syrup, and salt in a large heavy-bottomed saucepan. Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly until the butter has melted and the sugar has dissolved.
Bring the mixture to a gentle but steady boil. Continue cooking for about 5 minutes, stirring frequently so the mixture does not scorch on the bottom. If you are using a candy thermometer, cook until the mixture reaches approximately 234–238°F (112–114°C).
Remove the saucepan from the heat immediately. Stir in the white chocolate chips and marshmallow creme. Keep stirring until everything has completely melted and the mixture is smooth and glossy.
Add the vanilla extract and optional maple extract. Stir well to distribute the flavor evenly. Fold in the toasted chopped walnuts, reserving a small handful for sprinkling over the top if desired.
Immediately pour the fudge mixture into the prepared pan. Spread it into an even layer using a spatula. Sprinkle the reserved walnuts over the surface and gently press them into the fudge.
Allow the fudge to cool at room temperature for about 1 hour. Then refrigerate for at least 2–3 hours, or until completely firm.
Once set, lift the fudge from the pan using the parchment paper. Place it on a cutting board and use a sharp knife to cut it into small squares. For cleaner cuts, warm the knife under hot water and wipe it dry between slices.
Store the Maple Walnut Fudge in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. Let the pieces sit at room temperature for a few minutes before serving for the softest, creamiest texture.
Each bite delivers buttery maple sweetness, creamy white chocolate fudge, and crunchy toasted walnuts for an irresistible old-fashioned treat.
