Cantarito recipe with Gran Tezcalama Tequila.
The Cantarito is a classic Mexican cocktail with a vibrant, citrusy flavor that perfectly complements the smooth notes of Gran Tezcalama Tequila. Here’s a recipe to create a refreshing Cantarito:
Ingredients:
▫️2 ounces (60ml) Gran Tezcalama Reposado or Blanco Tequila
▫️¾ ounce (22.5ml) freshly squeezed grapefruit juice
▫️¾ ounce (22.5ml) freshly squeezed orange juice
▫️½ ounce (15ml) freshly squeezed lime juice
▫️Grapefruit soda (e.g., Jarritos, Sq**rt, or Fever Tree), chilled
▫️Pinch of salt
▫️Tajín seasoning (for rim)
▫️Ice
▫️Citrus slices (grapefruit, orange, or lime) for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
1. Prepare a traditional clay cantarito cup, soak it in cold water for about 10 minutes to help keep the drink chilled.
2. Run a lime wedge around the rim of the cantarito cup. Then, dip the rim into a saucer of Tajín seasoning to coat it.
3. Combine ingredients: In a cocktail shaker or glass, combine the Tequila Gran Tezcalama, grapefruit juice, orange juice, and lime juice. If you're adding salt, add a pinch here.
4. Add ice and shake (or stir): If using a shaker, add ice and shake until the mixture is well-chilled. If using a glass, add ice and stir gently to combine the ingredients.
5. Serve and garnish: Pour the mixture into your prepared glass filled with fresh ice. Top with chilled grapefruit soda. Stir gently and garnish with citrus slices (grapefruit, orange, or lime).
Enjoy your refreshing Cantarito! Remember to drink responsibly.
