Checking on the 2024 and 2025 vintages in the cellar. 2024 is showing excellent poise and structure, while the 25s have greater density, fruitiness, and exuberance.

I’ve been working with concrete eggs from for the Chenin since 2018, finishing Cab Franc in Nu barrel since the 2021 vintage, and utilizing amphorae and barrels from to round out the aging process. These tools allow me to build texture in my wines, restraining our exuberant sunshine and shaping wines of character.

Every year, I get more excited about the wines I’m crafting, and I can’t wait to share these with all of you. If you’re in Napa, come by and taste.

Do you LOVE Chenin Blanc AND T. Berkley Wines?! If you do, come on down to Wine Fest Saturday May 16th in Berkeley (not Berkley!). I will be there pouring a few of my stellar Chenin Blancs alongside some fantastic producers from the Golden State and beyond!

It promises to be an outstanding, international gathering of devotees to one of the world’s great white wines that you may not know enough about! Plus, Saturdays in May are for drinking Chenin. See you there!

New coworkers arrived the other day and are busy cleaning up the place! Wooly w**ders replacing w**d whackers for a little cover crop clean up before the growing season starts in earnest. Hopefully next year they are able to join for the entire winter!

Bottling coming up this week, so testing some final bench trials before the final appellation wines come together.

How it started vs. how it’s going, 10 year addition!

Hard to believe it, but the start of 2026 marks 10 YEARS (!) that I have been crafting , bringing my unique perspective to Loire-varieties grown in California sunshine. From humble (and rather difficult) beginnings bootstrapping 250 cases in a converted garage in Sebastopol (iykyk), to managing vineyard expansions and replants in Calistoga for and crafting ~3000 cases, T. Berkley Wines has grown organically alongside my winemaking career.

Now 10 years in, I have never been happier in the quality of the wines I am crafting and feel unbelievably grateful to be able to do this thing that I love day in and day out. Thank you to everyone who has supported this journey over the years, especially my BLANC + FRANC Members!

And as we embark on another year spreading California love for the Loire, we hope to see you all in the wild. It has been a great pleasure to be able to share my wines with the world and I look forward to another successful 10 years!

Sunday-funday in the winery usually means getting lost in a tank! Fingers crossed, this may be the last working weekend of the 2025 harvest. Another tank down, two to go. The hours have been long, but the wines are showing great so far!
