Historic Family-Owned Napa Valley Estate
| 21+ only Larkmead Vineyards is one of the oldest family-owned wineries in Napa Valley.
(385)

Originally founded in 1895,the Larkmead estate has been under the stewardship of the Solari-Baker family since 1948. Since that time, the family has steadily farmed, replanted, and nurtured the 115-acre vineyard to produce some of the most recognized wines from Napa Valley. In support of Larkmead’s winemaking history, modern facilities were built in 2004, and expanded in 2014, utilizing state of t

he art equipment and design. Over the past 20 years, Larkmead has focused on Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet-based blends. In this time, Larkmead wines have garnered over 140 scores of 95 points and above – two of which earned a perfect 100-point rating – a testament to the brilliance and quality of the vineyard and winemaking, and the dedication of the Solari-Baker family’s pursuit of excellence.

Rain on the reservoir this morning. It's easy to worry when the forecast calls for precipitation during harvest, but this light rain is really just Mother Nature washing the dust off the vines before we pick.

There’s a quality to this garden that photographs can only half capture—the way it moves.

Native grasses ripple in the breeze. Beeblossom sways in soft clouds of pink along the path, while salvia adds bursts of color among the planting. Milkweed rises gently through the garden, bringing pollinators into the landscape, and Calistoga fuchsia adds another layer of movement, its delicate blooms catching the light as the afternoon unfolds.

Nothing here is static. Larkmead’s plantings are chosen for that sense of restlessness—a landscape that breathes, rustles, shimmers, and changes its mood by the hour. Come experience it for yourself. Join us for a private tasting among the gardens, where exceptional wines and a living landscape come together.

The best way to balance the long days and many hours of harvest is with the company of your pup. 🐾

Meet Ella, our winemaker's golden retriever—vineyard walker, harvest companion, and resident good girl.

We love welcoming dogs to the estate — just let us know you're bringing your four-legged best friend, and we'll make sure they have as much fun visiting Larkmead as you do.

Happy from all of us (and Ella) at Larkmead. ❤️🐕

Many hands make light work—but every hand matters.

From vine to bottle, there are countless small, essential steps that bring a wine to life. Each task on the bottling line plays a part in making sure the grapes we’ve carefully grown and the wine we’ve patiently aged finally make their way into the bottle.

Here's a look behind the scenes as we bottled the 2024 Firebelle Estate Red Blend this week. 🍷

What does the future of Napa Valley look like?

At Larkmead, we believe part of the answer lies in asking questions—and being willing to experiment. Our three-acre Research Block is dedicated to exploring grape varieties and farming practices that could help shape the future of Napa Valley wine, while remaining rooted in the legacy of Cabernet Sauvignon that defines our estate.

From Aglianico and Charbono to Tempranillo and Assyrtiko, the Research Block is a living example of what may come next.

Thank you to The Vintner Project for sharing the story. Read the full feature at the link in our bio.

The 2023 Solari Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is more than our flagship wine. It is a reflection of the family whose name it carries and the historic estate they have stewarded since 1948.

Awarded 98 points at Wine Enthusiast and just released to our members, this iconic Napa Valley Cabernet captures the depth, character, and sense of place that have defined Larkmead for generations.

Happy

At Larkmead, stewardship means looking beyond the vineyard.

As a Napa Green Gold Level organically farmed estate, we’re committed to practices that protect and enrich the land for generations to come. From nurturing pollinator habitats in permanent cover crops throughout our 115-acre estate, every choice is part of a larger responsibility: caring for the living ecosystem that makes great wine and possible.

The world’s most celebrated wines are defined as much by the vintages they don’t produce as the ones they do. Vintage Champagne, Rioja Gran Reserva, and Bordeaux’s most iconic bottlings all follow that philosophy.

The 2023 The Lark continues that tradition—returning for the first time since 2019 as an exceptional expression of the Larkmead estate.

First access is reserved for our Solari Members - tap the link in our profile to enroll.
