We're not sure what happened, he must have had some underlying health conditions that we weren't aware of. Last night I woke to him whimpering and shaking, I thought he was dreaming untill I couldnt wake him up. Thats when my heart sunk and I knew something was very wrong. The shaking in his body was too much. His breath slowed and he slipped away from us in a matter of 3 to 5 minutes. He had been acting normal. Last Friday, I let him run free, he was gone for about 5 hrs and came home excited and so happy, he loved running and swimming in the river. We are heartbroken his life was cut so short, he was only 3.5 💔. He was so sweet, and we loved him so much and he loved us! FLY Free forever😭😭

🌿 Introducing the YESS 4 F's Program: Farms, Fish, Forestry & Fire! 🌿

This summer, two YESS - Youth Environmental Summer Studies alumni are taking the next step in their environmental leadership journey through an immersive four-week mentorship experience. Working side-by-side with local farmers, fisheries biologists, foresters, and fire professionals, they'll gain hands-on experience, ask questions, and learn what it takes to care for our landscapes and communities. Today, our two students started their season at Moon Toad Farms.

From building beaver dam analogs and surveying aspen stands to helping on working farms and learning about prescribed fire and forest management, participants will experience the real-world challenges and rewards of natural resource stewardship.

A huge thank you to the incredible local landowners, organizations, and professionals who are opening their gates, sharing their knowledge, and mentoring the next generation of conservation leaders. We also want to thank Greg Hanna who took his Dad's, Skip Hanna's original SRWC logo and modified for this program. Together, we're helping build the future of stewardship—one field day at a time. 🌾🐟🌲🔥

I just filmed a garden tour and wanted to share a little piece of what we've been growing here at Moon Toad Farms. From lush greens and colorful vegetables to the beauty of a thriving regenerative farm, it's amazing to see how much life can grow from a tiny seed.
This season's garden is a reflection of hard work, patience, healthy soil, and a whole lot of love. Whether you're a fellow gardener, a local food supporter, or just enjoy seeing things grow, I hope you'll enjoy the tour.
