Since we no longer have any Jerseys producing milk and, therefore, are NOT selling raw milk, I can freely say this:
Yes. We drank our raw milk. (Actually, we are still consuming the milk Tinny produced on her last days here.)
Yes. We ONLY sold it not for human consumption.
No. We do not think everyone should drink it.
No. We don’t think every dairy’s raw milk should be sold to the public.
No. We won’t buy raw milk from just any farm.
So what words of advice would I have for you if you are considering drinking raw milk?
1. Visit the farm you’re considering. If you can’t visit the farm at least once, I highly recommend you don’t buy from them.
2. Ask them to explain (in detail) their milking procedures. How many cows are they milking? Are they checking each cow daily for mastitis prior to milking? Are they using Iodine to dip the teats? Is milk pumped Into a large vat and then bottled?
3. Ask them to explain (in detail) their sanitation procedures. Because cows p**p and milk can contain bacteria and bacteria can grow In milk machines.
4. Ask them to explain (in detail) their milk cooling procedures. Raw milk must be cooled below 40° ASAP after being produced. To deter growth of bacteria, etc, It must be KEPT BELOW 40°.
5. Ask to see their disease testing (BLV, BVD, Johnes, SCC, Mastitis panels, etc). These diseases are real and you need to own your own health If you choose to consume raw milk.
6. If you’re not picking your milk up AT THE FARM, ask specifically how long the milk is stored in a cooler while being transported. (This affects the quality and safety of the milk.) See #4.
7. Once you find a farm that cares enough for their animals, their product and their community to produce milk correctly and answer your questions, stay loyal to them. Don’t switch providers to save $1 - $2 per gallon. The care, safety and work put into producing quality milk is not worth sacrificing for $1-2.

Again, we no longer sell milk. We still hold our feedmaster license but do NOT HAVE ANY MILK TO SELL. Just in case anyone is tempted to score us an inspection from the state… we sell nothing raw milk based.
