Walnut Hills is participating in Southern Eagle Ranch’s 10th Annual Generation of Genetics sale on Saturday March 21st at the Lynchburg Livestock Market at 1:00 PM. We are offering two triples. WHH MS Precious 05J with a heifer calf on her side and confirmed bred 55 days to Big Sky Destination 21L a trait leading PB HB HP Salers bull. The other cow is WHH MS Stetson 16J, who has a bull calf at her side and is bred 80 days with a bull calf sired by TJ Arrowhead 263G, a trait leading Simangus sire. Come view these cows and other exceptional offerings at the sale.

I was walking across one of the farms we have in our operation yesterday and come across the herd matriarch, WHH Ms Maggie 08H. For me, she just right all the way around. Walnut Hills is blessed to have her in our herd and have two of her daughters who are also excellent young cows with a bright future in large part due to their mama. We’re adding six new heifers to Walnuts Hill’s herd this year. These young ladies are sired by three different sires and are from foundational females in our seedstock program. As I looked them over night before last, I could not think how how blessed we are to work with these magnificent creatures of God’s creation. We’ll track their progress and update our fb page from time to time. As always, comments are appreciated and reached out if you need purebred or optimizer Salers cattle.

Fall calving is underway for Walnut Hills. MS Judy 04H delivered a healthy 84 pound bull calf this morning without assistance. The calf is a halfblood Salers, whose sire is TJ Arrowhead. He’s thick and vigorous. I think he’s going to be a good one and the genomic EPDs of his parents confirm my assessment.

After careful consideration, Walnut Hills adjusted our AI program to capture cross breeding vigor. We selected some of the top Simmiangus sires from ABS Global and Premier Select Sires and settled on CCR Boulder 1339A and TJ Arrowhead 263G. We are impressed with the results The phenotype confirmation is excellent and the genomic EPDs speak for themselves. Checkout WHH Marcellus 19M, born 1 Nov 2024, and let us know what you think.

Walnut Hills is fortunate to participate in the upcoming Eastern Salers Showcase on 4 October 2025 in Gray, TN. As our seedstock program grows and matures, this is the first time our homegrown cows are offered for sale. These two mamas are outstanding with great eye appeal, tight utters, and and good volume.
