We may have hosted Common Ground, but what happened that day belonged to everyone who showed up, gave, volunteered, played, donated, shared and helped make it happen.

We’re so grateful to be part of this community.

If there's one thing that this month's historic flooding has reminded us of, it's that Wayne County is full of incredible people and businesses. Thank you, Pilgrimage Wine Company, for hosting Common Ground to support flood relief efforts in Cambridge City and Hagerstown. To everyone who attended this great event and donated, thank you. Our communities still have a long road to recovery, but these past couple of weeks have shown us just how special Wayne County is to so many of you.

Dan joined us at Common Ground on Saturday and later shared his reflections on what he witnessed, not only at Pilgrimage, but throughout our community in the days following the flood.

He wrote about the people putting on boots and cleaning out homes.

The volunteers bringing meals and supplies.

The leaders trying to navigate something no one could have prepared for.

And the hundreds of people who came to Pilgrimage on Saturday and, after an incredibly difficult week, had a few hours to sit together, listen to music, laugh and simply enjoy being with one another.

He called it “The Fabric of America.”

We couldn't think of a better way to describe what we've witnessed here over the last two weeks.

What happened in Wayne County over the last few weeks has reached far beyond our little corner of Indiana.

Emma had the opportunity to speak with NewsNation about the flooding, what our community has been through, and the incredible way people have stepped up to help.

We’re grateful for every opportunity to keep telling this story because the work isn’t over yet.

Can we all agree on one thing?

A few weekends ago, we were welcoming everyone to Pilgrimage for the first-ever Treaty Line Music Festival.

Then came the flood.

And just days later, we were pulling together Common Ground and watching hundreds of people show up to help our community.

👉Can we agree that August has been… a lot?!

There’s been a lot to celebrate, but also a lot to process and grieve, and for many of us, a lot to take care of.

So we have a proposition for you this weekend:

Give yourself a few hours where there’s absolutely nothing you need to take care of.

Find a spot on the patio with a glass of wine, feel the breeze coming through the vineyard, catch up with someone you enjoy being with, and let the to-do list wait at home.
