Hello! I figure it's time for a little update from Ruth & Rose.
While I've been meaning to make a post for awhile now, explaining that I'd be taking things a little slower this year while I figure out how to grow flowers, chase two kids to all their activities and still work my full-time gig, the storms that rolled through Tuesday afternoon expedited my decision on just how slow I'd be going.
My family and I are okay and our home made it out better than we can say for many of our neighbors. Unfortunately, I did have most my flower trays in our window well, hardening off, when the storm rolled in. Honestly, I think I may be able to salvage quite a few, but they did take some damage from the siding blown on top of them. Planting will also be delayed while we focus on the house and clean debris from the yard and garden beds.
My only goals this year will be to plant what I can, fill the flower stand (once rebuilt) when I have flowers available and continue to work on my soil quality. If any good can come from this crappy situation, it will be that I can take the time to reset (guilt free) and plan to come back stronger next season!
