Cakes, desserts, sweet treats Hi! My name is Selena and I’m the owner of Bake Them Happy. I love to bake and have a business out of my home.

I would love to bake for you, your family, an event of yours or to make an everyday event something special. I bake cupcakes, cakes, scones, muffins, tarts and more from scratch! I have held this one close to my heart for awhile. This group of girls is very special. We sing together but also life together. We have gone through alll kinds of things this past year. One of our members felt cake was appropriate to help with all the emotions and things we’ve experienced. I chose to do a kintsugi design. Kintsugi is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with lacquer mixed with gold. Instead of hiding the cracks, the repair makes them visible—and beautiful.
The gold isn’t the absence of cracks.
The gold is what you put into the cracks.
So kintsugi is not really about broken things.
It’s about believing that brokenness and beauty can exist in the same place.

This was the lovely little “Delicious Death” cake that my friend commissioned me to make for her event at the library. It’s a recipe that is referred to in an Agatha Christie book. I was a bit worried about how it would taste with an unusual filling! But I am never one to shy away from a challenge. This was a flourless 4 layer chocolate cake with a raisin, ginger, cherry filling! Rumor has it, it was delicious.

We moved in our baby to school yesterday! Sooo bittersweet. Especially when you really like your kids! He will do so well! Soar Tucker Mulder !

We decided to DJ the move-in line while we waited!

The “closing ceremony” was encouraging, worshipful and tearful.

So happy to provide cake for farm_and_thread Farm and Thread and their 5th anniversary! It is just the cutest boutique in Lindstrom run by the cutest gal who just happens to be a cousin! You should definitely check it out if you haven’t! Oh, and the cake was vanilla with a strawberry rhubarb filling. 😍
