It’s been a while, let’s do an intro post!

We are Hallow Acres! Made up of Shane, Kelly, and our two tiny farmers.

We started in 2018 when we moved from the Twin Cities metro area to northern Isanti county. Our original goal was to just raise meat for ourselves and our families but as the years went on we realized how much we loved providing meat to our community, caring for our animals, and improving our land.

We raise hogs, sheep, chickens and turkeys. All our animals are rotationally grazed throughout our pastures which helps to give back to the land while also producing some incredible meat.

We do this while both of us still work full time off the farm as a nurse and a paramedic.

We hope you all enjoy our posts and reels, sorry they are sometimes few and far between but we try to keep up with this social media stuff.

Scape cutting for our garlic CSA with my 🤰

Woowee it’s hot out there! We got some wicked storms last night that dropped 1 inch of rain in 30 minutes, but luckily no damage. However, no relief from this humidity.

Moving day for the piglets is always stressful, but add in sleep deprivation after 4 night shifts in a row + 36 weeks 🤰and whew it’s not easy.
Thankfully it went pretty smoothly, now just need to hope they respect the fence!
