Cambridge Village Market

Cambridge Village Market A true Vermont market in the heart of Cambridge. Grocery, local dairy, deli, meat department, bakery, gas and so much more!

Cambridge Village Market has the largest fully-stocked grocery store in the area, where you will find the freshest meats, local produce, and a large selection of beer and wine. We also feature a deli shop that will have your sandwiches made to order, and we offer gasoline, kerosene & propane services as well. We're conveniently located just a short drive from Smugglers' Notch Resort, so we're the

perfect place to do your shopping while staying at the resort any time of year! The Cambridge Village Market was originally built in the 1850's and has always served as a grocery store. In the 1900's, it was known as The Willey Brothers Store. However, fifty years later, the store became The Cambridge Community Lockers, where the locals would rent refrigerator and freezer space to store food. Eventually, in the late 1960's the food lockers were removed.Bruce MacMillan purchased the store in 1990 and ran the store for 31 years. Ron and Linda Frey purchased the market in 2023. 3 weeks after the purchase the store flooded for the first time since 1927. This will not stop them from making sure The Cambridge Village Market continues to grow and serve the community in the tradition of a true, Vermont country store. Stay tuned for the comeback with this incredible community's help!

We've been asked a few times about gas prices. We have always been very honest about all market related topics so we want to do the same about gas. We want to start by saying we are extremely grateful for this community and for your support not only inside the market but at the gas pumps as well. With that being said, being a privately owned gas station we have control over our prices so we try to stay lower/more affordable than surrounding stations. (Not including the special gas credit card prices, we are not sure how those work with large chain gas stations but it is not something that we can offer here but something we do have to compete with having multiple gas stations within a couple miles on both sides of us).

However, we are at the will of the larger gas companies delivering gas to us. What does that mean? That means if we lower the prices significantly lower than surrounding areas we will sell out of gas extremely quickly. Leaving the rest of the community to have to spend higher prices elsewhere. We've tried it and it happens every time. The last thing we want to do is shut down our pumps because we have run out of gas.

We do want everyone to keep in mind that there are weeks where we lose money at the gas pumps because we wait to see if prices will drop the next day, trying to avoid raising the prices as long as we can.

We also try to make sure our grocery prices, especially in our meat department, are affordable to help offset the cost of fuel for the community. We are going to work as a team to make sure we are doing more in-store sales to help with overall expenses for the community. We want to help out those who support us in the market as well as at the pumps. So stay tuned for more weekly specials!

We are so grateful and so thankful for everyone who supports us, we do everything we can to give back and we will continue to do so 💗

This old dairy cooler renovation is coming out BEAUTIFUL! This will be our new wine room and Vermont section once finished. Moving all of the wine will allow us to expand on our groceries and household products. We are so excited!

Oh AND we will have a cooler for chilled wine in the new room also! 🍾

Stay tuned! Like always, thank YOU for making this all possible 💗

Thank you Jordan and Tucker at Hayes Woodwork VT LLC for rebuilding what seems like the whole store 😂 We appreciate you!
