Noms comes from “nom nom,” and we made it plural.
When we first launched Noms Eatery in 2019, our signature item was fried chicken and waffles. The funny thing is, waffles were never our original idea for this business. We chose them because, as a new business, they fit our budget. A waffle maker was affordable, so we decided to go for it.
That simple decision started our journey. People quickly fell in love with our waffles, and we constantly heard, “These are the best waffles we’ve ever had!”
Funny how the things you never planned for can become what you’re known for.
Years later, I ended up winning First Place Judge’s Choice for Best Savory Bite at the Fork It Over culinary competition, and of course, it was our fried chicken and waffles.
I still remember one guy telling me, “I’ve heard about Noms Eatery on the radio; they say you have the best fried chicken and waffles.”
What started as a budget-friendly idea became one of the biggest parts of our story. 💛🧇😋

Yay! Proud to be a graduate! 🎓

This program was an incredible opportunity to grow our knowledge of entrepreneurship and business. I have spent years learning and building my skills in the kitchen since I was a teenager, and that same passion continues to drive me today.
Owning a restaurant has always been my dream, and I will keep working hard until it becomes a reality. My journey as a Deaf chef and business owner has come with challenges and barriers, but I have continued to push forward, learn, grow, and break through them.
Excited to see what’s next for us and grateful for everything we’ve learned along the way.

La Colombiana Hamburger is a Colombian woman-owned business. They offer their Colombian-style hamburgers and street food, such as empanadas, arepas, and more! Based in the Fitchburg Public Market. Food truck is coming soon!!

Pops Sweetharts LLC is a woman family business, beyond her father. They offer more than just ice cream. They have pre-packaged novelties, Hawaiian shaved ice, hand-dipped cones, classic treats and liquor-infused ice cream for adults. You can find their two mobile trucks around in the greater Boston / southern NH area

EDEX Provisions | NewEnglands 1st Black owned cheese shop is the first black woman-owned cheese shop in New England. They offer gourmet cheese and charcuterie boards, custom platters, grazing tables, and build your own box, including options for vegan, gluten-free, and nut-free. Based in Peabody, MA.
