The Grateful Graze Girls are officially off to college!

Earlier this morning, Monte headed to Western Illinois University in Macomb IL to drop the girls off for their new adventure. Everything is ready, and the WIU Allison Farm is about to embark on the 5th principle of Soil Health: Livestock Integration!

🌽🌽 Sweet Corn Update🌽🌽

Our second U-Pick sweet corn patch should be ready for picking this weekend! The first patch got picked through rather quickly, so if you didn’t get the chance, come grab your own fresh sweet corn for just one dollar a dozen. Rain’s in the forecast, so bring your own rain jacket or poncho and sturdy shoes to keep you dry while you pick. 1 mile North of Route 81 at, 1900 east and 1100 North, Cambridge, IL 61238. 🌽🌽Sweet Corn Update🌽🌽
Howdy folks, We love how many have come out to our U pick sweet corn patch!

Our first planting is about fully mature but not quite fully picked. There’s still some to be found in the lesser traveled areas. Our second planting is not quite ready yet but should be by next weekend (8/8- 8/9).

On the second planting you will notice some taller corn on the western and northern edges of the planting. That was due to early cover crop termination but most of the 2nd patch is shorter in height due to competition from the cover crops. I also tried mowing it to make it easier to walk through, which reduced the stand. They will taste great just need to reach a little lower. Stay tuned for 2nd patch announcements!!

ARE YOU LOST? Are you looking for the sweet corn patch located at the corner of 1900E Street and 1100N Avenue? If you don’t read this message and google up Grateful Graze it’s gonna get you lost and will take you to our residence or ranch. You’ll be disappointed because the corn is not here!

It’s in a field. The field has no official address. But we have taken the time to create a special pin location in Google Maps so you can find it at the corner of 1900E Street and 1100N Avenue. All you have to do is just click the link in this post.

For those of you who can’t use Google Maps, the patch is located East of Cambridge IL on highway 81. Turn North on 1900E Street, go 1 mile to 1100N Avenue and you are there! It’s the SW corner of 1900E Street and 1100N Avenue.

Please don’t stop at a house. There are no houses at the patch location at 1900E Street and 1100N Avenue. Our neighbors didn’t ask to be part of a U-Pick Sweet Corn Patch and the last thing we want to do is bother them with lost people.
